We're looking for a collaborative Forward Deployed AI Scientist (Expert Data Scientist) with strong technical expertise to join our AI Delivery team at Nordea. You'll design and build scalable AI solutions with integrated directly in our service area/service domain model.

This position is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working location based in Helsinki, Finland, Gdansk / Gdynia / Warsaw, Poland, Copenhagen, Denmark, or Stockholm, Sweden.

What you’ll be doing 

Main responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to: 

• Design, develop, and scale transformative AI applications from concept to production to create technology that makes a real impact
• Build AI applications that solve meaningful problems, partnering with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle
• Explore emerging AI tools and frameworks; share insights and build proof-of-concepts to drive AI execution
• Partner with engineers and product teams to translate business needs into practical AI solutions
• Develop and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms for various business applications 

Who you are

We are looking for multiple people with various levels of experience and skills, qualifying for most of the following requirements: 

• BSc, MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments, with 5+ years required for senior-level positions
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with proficiency in Python and experience building scalable, maintainable codebases
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries, with the ability to implement and optimize models for production use
• Basic experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), particularly AI/ML and data services
• Less senior: Excellent collaboration skills and experience working with diverse teams including data scientists, engineers, and product stakeholders
• More senior: Experience leading cross-functional collaboration with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to translate complex business requirements into practical AI solutions 

It would be ideal if you also have: 

• Deep interest in or experience with Generative AI and Machine Learning technologies
• Bring experience from agile environments or tech-driven transformation projects
• Familiarity with agent development frameworks such as AutoGen, CrewAI, LangGraph or similar and multi-agent system coordination
• Knowledge of agent testing methodologies, performance monitoring and maintaining agent reliability in production environments
• Have professional experience from working in regulated industries, i.e. Banking, Government, etc.
