Analyst, IRB Models Framework  (permanent position)

We are looking for a (Lead/Senior/Regular/Assistant) Quantitative Risk Analyst who is interested in working with methodologies, governance and processes for Nordea’s Internal Ratings-Based (IRB) models.

About our team

Meet the IRB Models Framework team. Our role is to develop and maintain the IRB models frameworks that describe the methodologies, processes and governance applied for the IRB models, which includes rating models, scoring models, Loss Given Default and Exposure at Default models.

What you’ll be doing

You will be responsible for updating and creating IRB model framework documents and other documents that apply to several or all teams in Risk Models Methodology & IRB. 

Main responsibilities in this role:

• Work with many stakeholders in Risk Models Methodology & IRB Models and numerous other units in Nordea, including Model Risk Management teams and Group Internal Audit;
• Work with colleagues in all teams in Risk Models Methodology and IRB Models to arrive at the best methodologies, processes and governance for Nordea’s IRB models;
• Analyse methodological choices, justify and document the conclusion;
• Update and create documents in English, including driving the creation/update of documents with input from other stakeholders;
• Make sure that the described methodologies, processes and governance comply with European regulation and internal rules;
• Present documents, analysis and methodology to relevant fora and committees;
• Perform ad hoc quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Who you are

Your background and skills include:

• A Master’s Degree or PhD in in a quantitative field, such as finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, physics or similar from a high quality academic institution;
• Excellent collaboration skills;
• Excellent knowledge of and significant experience with statistical modelling; 
• Full proficiency in English and excellent writing skills;
• Knowledge about the European regulation for IRB models;
• Understanding of the role of IRB models in a financial institution;
• Understanding of organisation and governance processes;
• An energetic and service-minded personality;
• A positive and curious mindset;
• A pragmatic, can-do attitude;
• A strong focus on results, deliveries and deadlines;
• The ability to work in teams and on your own.
