We are looking for a full-time team player to join our high performing team, working on finance and accounting area to take the responsibility of ensuring quality in our sub-ledger reconciliation and accounting reports. 

 

About our team

 

Meet the Accounting team. Our role is to deliver excellent up-to-date service to our stakeholders by ensuring quality in our sub-ledger financial statements and reporting interfaces as well as continuously improving our processes. Our cross-country team is part of Nordea Finance’s Customer Lifecycle Processing Journey and our main purpose is to handle daily/weekly/monthly reconciliation and accounting processes from the Nordic countries within the given timetable.

 

We are 17 professionals working in three different locations: Helsinki, Stockholm and Łódź were also this position will be based. With our special knowledge and skills we are supporting Nordea Finance business areas and delivering the results of handled processes both to Finance & Analytics department and to Business Control team. Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Ensuring correct and timely execution of end-of-the-month closing processes in our sub-ledgers
  • Preparing journal entries, monthly accruals and account reconciliations - taking part of the monthly Regulatory reporting
  • Creating, developing and updating process documentation
  • Sharing your expertise by ensuring data quality, creating reporting specifications or process definitions 
  • Improving current processes and utilize more automated way of working

Your background and skills include:

  • Excellent analytical abilities and high attention to details added with an ability of problem solving
  • Natural interest to utilise Excel's functions and continuously improve reconciliation work
  • A combination of self-driven, pro-active mindset, working independently and being an inspiring team player 
  • Good knowledge of MS Office tool
  • Fluency in English on communicative level (B2)

 

It would be ideal if you also:

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in accounting, finance, economics or similar field or relevant work experience
  • Work experience from bookkeeping and accounts ledger is an advantage
