We are looking for our new Assistant Controller with Data Analysis & SQL skills to support our existing Financial & Data Control team in New York.
About our team
As the Assistant Controller, you safeguard Nordea and assist business decision-making and risk management by ensuring that timely, complete and accurate financial and regulatory reporting are delivered related to e.g. P/L, the balance sheet, valuations, risks, capital, liquidity & funding, business volumes and full-time equivalents (FTEs). Support management and business units in the planning, management and decision processes with data mining, analysis, business cases and scenario building. Help in development of supporting tools and methods, and ensure high quality of data.

What you’ll be doing
You will become responsible for supporting and preparing:
- US Regulatory reporting- Duties include preparing and validating financial data according to regulations. Report preparation for all regulators including Federal Reserve Bank, New York State Department of Financial Services and U.S. Department of Commerce
- Ensuring timely and accurate financial data validation, analysis, and reporting to support business decisions and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Managing accounting and monthly closings, maintaining financial master data, harmonizing processes, supporting error handling, and providing management reports
- Assisting with audits and process improvements
- Managing data flows, providing advanced analytics and automating reporting processes using SQL programming
- Preparing ad-hoc reports and assisting with various administrative tasks
- Project participation to analyze and enhance databases

Your experience and background:
- 1 -3 years of relevant banking experience or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong English skills both written and spoken
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Proficient in SQL programming
Advanced Excel capabilities
Further Information
Salary Range: USD $80,000 - $100,000
