Associate Analyst to Group Finance to take part of Nordea’s strategically important reference rate setting

We are looking for an Associate Analyst to join our IBOR Management team in Group Finance. As an analyst in IBOR Management you will be representing Nordea in setting the IBOR reference rates used widely in the financial industry and in commercial contracts (globally estimated to USD 350tn in volumes). You will also be able to take part in the development of future alternative reference rates in the Nordics through industry forums, with a particular focus on the Danish market and help Nordea in the ongoing IBOR transition that is a hot topic in financial markets globally.

Following the LIBOR scandal during the financial crisis, the area of reference rates have gone through a significant change with increased focus from regulators. The change continues as the financial sector is developing new reference rates and adjusting the setup around existing IBORs to become compliant with new EU regulation. As part of IBOR Management in Nordea, you will be exposed to an international environment spanning across the Nordics, keeping attention on global developments while contributing to implementations locally.

In IBOR Management, a part of Markets & Treasury Financial Control within Group Finance, we work broadly with reference rate setting on behalf of Nordea and analysis & advisory related to profit & loss, risks, capital and benchmarking towards stakeholders in both Nordea Markets and Treasury.

We seek to fill the position in Copenhagen where the team is based in addition to Stockholm and Warsaw.

The overall scope of the work includes:

  • Daily setting of Nordea’s contribution to the Nordic IBORs and other reference rates
  • Keeping up with market developments and conduct a basic level of analysis on the Nordic economies
  • Taking part in improvement projects on our frameworks in terms of compliance, efficiency and technical requirements
  • Participation in internal and external audits and compliance reviews
  • Taking part in the IBOR transition, working closely with internal and external stakeholders
  • Outside the reference rate regime, the role includes relevant analysis work and project management relating to Nordea’s balance sheet, risks & capital, profit & loss and performance
