About this opportunity
Welcome to the Backup team. We add value by running different kinds of backup solutions across Nordea’s Infrastructure platforms, the main technologies are Veritas NetBackup, IBM Storage Protect and Dell PPDM. As the Backup Engineer, you will play a valuable role in supporting projects, changes and technology evaluations, enhancing the quality of the backup service and automating critical tasks and processes while Vendor runs the daily operations. It is very important that you are a team player and open minded for new challenges.
What you’ll be doing in the backup platform:
- Drive and support projects
- Automate whatever adds value to the service and reduce the operations team’s workload
- Support conducted restore, failover and DR tests
- Continuous security and cybersecurity enhancement of the platform
- Support internal and external audits
- Education - knowledge transfer and hand over to the operations team
- Flexible work between remote and from offices while the role is based in Copenhagen

To succeed in this role, we believe that you have:
- Deep knowledge and experience from at least 2 of the main technologies: NetBackup, Storage Protect and PPDM
- Comfortable in using REST API, command line and supporting tools for automation
- Experience from some (or all) of the areas listed but not limited to: Storage, Linux, Windows, Solaris, VMware, iSeries
- General technical IT knowledge, i.e. network, firewall, AD, DNS
- Good communication skills, team player, open minded, curious, want to go the extra mile when it is needed
