About our team
Meet the Engineering Enablement & Innovation team. You will be responsible for designing and implementing new methodologies, working with cutting-edge technologies, as well as defining and sharing best practices to enhance collaboration and efficiency across thousands of engineers at Nordea. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills and passion for driving change and innovation.
Main responsibilities in this role:
- Identify areas of improvement in the current engineering processes and implement changes to enhance the engineering experience
- Leveraging technical expertise, support in designing and establishing technical solutions for strategic projects and programmes across the bank
- Support the implementation of Technology & Data Strategy and related principles and practices at scale, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives
- Partner with senior leaders to communicate vision and drive adoption of new ways of working and thinking
- Proactively research and identify emerging technologies, tools and methodologies with the potential to transform software development life cycle (SDLC). Stay up to date on the latest trends and share insights with the organization about best practices, lessons learned, and valuable resources
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic insights and recommendations on technology trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape. Drive thought leadership initiatives and represent the company at industry events and forums
- Provide guidance, mentoring and coaching to senior leadership and engineering teams to foster a culture of agility and continuous improvement
- Exploit the collective wisdom of the crowd to solve organization toughest challenges. Collaborate with engineers to pilot and champion the adoption of innovative solutions and new ways of working
- Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams, Service Areas and Service Domains. Facilitate workshops, forums, community of practices and cross-functional initiatives to promote idea exchange, best practice sharing, and cross-pollination of innovative ideas
Who you are
Your background and skills include:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages
- Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices
- Solution oriented, proactive in finding improvement methods and continuous development and implementing them in day-to-day work on various levels. Deep understanding of delivery roles including their problems, risks and ways to resolve them
- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels of the organization. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities, with a passion for identifying and solving complex challenges through innovative thinking, experimentation, and iterative learning
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate innovative ideas into actionable plans
- Deep understanding of innovation principles and a passion for exploring new technologies
- Experience leading and inspiring teams in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain meaningful professional networks
- Cross-culture competence and experience working in diverse, multicultural environment
- Excellent English skills, both in speaking and in writing.
