Fullstack Developer - AI and API Platform Portal (permanent position)
Welcome to Group Technology, where we pride ourselves on engineering solutions and direct Nordea’s transformation by providing a holistic technological view and structured understanding of the bank, and its surrounding environment to enable the Customer Vision and the Business Strategy.
As part of Nordea’s 2030 strategic direction, we are modernizing our technology and data estate while accelerating the adoption of AI-enabled capabilities across the bank. We are looking for a Fullstack Developer to join our team and help develop the self-service portal that supports onboarding and management of services across our Kong AI and API platform capabilities. The role includes building backend and frontend services, developing custom integrations and improving the developer experience for teams using the platform.
Nordea is a place where traditions meet tomorrow. We're not just a bank, we're a tech employer on a mission to evolve finance securely and responsibly. Together, we impact millions of people’s daily lives by ensuring they can access our solutions anytime, anywhere, while safeguarding their personal data and wealth. Join us in making an impact on the banking industry.
About our team
In the Integration and AI engineering team, we build self-service capabilities that help teams across Nordea integrate with core platforms such as Kafka and Kong, making it easier to onboard, manage and operate services securely and efficiently. These capabilities are key enablers for the bank, supporting scalable API and event-driven integration while improving developer experience. We are now extending the same self-service approach to AI-related integration patterns, including LLMs, MCP and A2A.
The team works closely with DevOps engineers, developers, UI/UX designers, product owners, architects, and platform stakeholders to deliver production-ready capabilities. You will join a collaborative engineering environment where quality, automation, security and developer experience are central to how we work.
This is a full-time permanent position with a hybrid working location in either Helsinki, Finland, or Gdańsk, Poland.
Main responsibilities in this role:
- Developing and maintaining backend and frontend components of the self-service portal, and implementing new capabilities.
- Building backend services using Spring Boot.

- Developing and troubleshooting integrations between the gateway and internal applications or external vendors.
- Designing and consuming REST APIs to ensure reliable, maintainable, and well-structured service interfaces.
