We are now looking for a IT Operations Engineer (Mid/Senior) to strengthen our Equity DevOps area. If you are passionate about trading technology, complex real-time systems, resiliency or DevOps, then this might be a perfect fit! 

The Equity DevOps team is a group of senior technologists, responsible for Nordea’s equity trading platforms. The platforms provide a wide range of business capabilities, including order management, exchange connectivity, risk and position management, as well as low-latency market making, covering equity cash products, derivatives and funds.

 

Up to a billion transactions are handled by this infrastructure on a daily basis, the majority driven by automated trading logic with high demands on performance, stability and scalability under load. The platforms are required to handle extreme market conditions, including once-in-a-decade market crashes and rallies. 
 
You will be closely cooperating with the development and trading teams in our headquarters in central Stockholm and Copenhagen, which offers a great opportunity to learn the nuances of trading and the financial markets. 
 
Nordea Technology is organized around competence areas, such as SW Development, IT Analysis and Application Maintenance. Your home will be in the Application Maintenance capability. Engineers from the various competence areas come together in DevOps teams, which is where the business value is delivered through projects or application maintenance and support. You will be part in one of the Equity DevOps teams.  
 
In Application Maintenance you will drive the best practices and standards around how Nordea delivers application maintenance, while in Equities DevOps team you will deliver solutions around the trading applications. 

 

About this opportunity

Welcome to the Front Office AM Equity Trading Solutions team. We add value by providing application support to users of Nordea’s systems including trading, market data, customer engagement and other applications. As the IT Operations Engineer (Mid/Senior), you’ll play a valuable role in keeping the lights on in our application area. You will also participate in the project meetings and discussions with the business, and will to some extent coordinate work within the sub-team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Troubleshooting and resolving multi-level application issues

  • Taking care of more complicated issues, requiring involving more than one resolving groups

  • Working with Incident, Change and Problem Management

  • Constantly working on simplifying and modernizing supported applications

  • Managing automation projects for supported applications and working environment

  • Maintaining and expending current server and application monitoring setup

  • Creating and updating knowledge base

  • Maintaining relations with stakeholders (Traders)

  • Translating business requirements into IT language and ensuring timely delivery

  • Taking part in multiple projects for the area

  • Communicating with the vendor support teams

  • Being a part of dynamic and high pace team, that directly makes an impact on Nordea’s trading applications

Your experience and background: 

  • You are a critical-thinker with analytical approach towards solving problems, as well as you are a good communicator and team player

  • You have experience supporting business critical application in high pace environment

  • You understand on basic level lifecycle of application/development

  • You are interested in, how backend of trading works

  • Windows OS Admin - ADVANCED
  • SQL - INTERMEDIATE
  • Linux/Unix OS Admin - INTERMEDIATE
  • Networking - INTERMEDIATE
  • CI/CD Experienced (Bamboo, Jenkins) - INTERMEDIATE
  • Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Batch) - INTERMEDIATE
  • ITIL Framework knowledge - INTERMEDIATE
  • Electronic Trading Experience / Personal interest - BEGINNER
  • Knowledge of fix protocol - BEGINNER
  • Monitoring (Geneos, Grafana, Splunk) - BEGINNER
