About this opportunity


Welcome to the ALM, Liquidity & Funding Development team. Focus/FoSA ecosystem is all about data, large scale data processing and implementing/operating a commercial solution for ALM and Liquidity Management. As the Expert Developer, you will join the Focus/FoSA team developing and maintaining the Ambit Focus application in use for liquidity and interest rate risk management for Nordea Treasury area. You will play a key role in strategically important projects expanding the usage of the application as well as join in the upgrade project. You will join an agile team working towards a DevOpS setup and work in a truly international environment.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Designing and implementing data-intensive applications 
  • Implementing/operating a commercial off-the shelf balance sheet management solution based on MS SQL suite
  • Supporting development team with daily tasks, mostly related with MSSQL and ETL development
  • Supporting development team with Apache Kafka (Java) development and maintenance
  • Assisting DevOps lead on the journey to improve the CI/CD pipeline
  • Challenge solutions, requirements and processes to bring about improvements
  • Interact with other developers, teams and stakeholders to create the best possible solution/participate in architectural discussion
  • Supporting development team, by developing, testing, reviewing solutions
  • Identifying potential areas for refactoring and improvements

 

You’ll join the development team that cooperates closely with the Product Owner and other business representatives. The role is based in Poland, while the team is geographically distributed across Poland and Nordics.

Required skills/abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of ETL subsystems and techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of ETL system design and development process and tasks
  • Expert practical knowledge working with MS SQL (T-SQL) databases & PowerShell
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Integration concepts 
  • Advanced knowledge of designing reliable, scalable and maintainable data solutions
  • Strong skills in translating business requirements into data solutions
  • Problem solving mindset with proactive approach and ability to run new development initiatives
  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts will be a plus
  • Not afraid of getting your hands dirty

 

Educational qualifications/experience:

  • Hands-on experience in designing data intensive applications for large scale data processing, working in complex business data domains and interacting with complex data processing pipelines
  • 5y+ hands-on experience with MS SQL (T-SQL) databases and PowerShell 
  • Experience with processing streams of data from Apache Kafka will be a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with at least one modern object-oriented programming language (Java, Kotlin or other)
  • Knowledge and ability to use Clean Code principles, design patterns
  • Familiarity with tools like Bamboo, GIT, Jira, Jenkins
  • Knowledge about Apache AirFlow will be a plus
