Welcome to Group Technology, where we engineer solutions and drive Nordea’s transformation by providing a holistic technology view and a structured understanding of the bank and its surrounding environment. We enable the Customer Vision and Business Strategy through strong architecture leadership and close collaboration across business and technology.
We are looking for a Lead Enterprise Architect for Finance Architecture to lead architecture across key Finance and Function domains within Nordea. This is a full-time permanent position with shared leadership accountability within our Service Area setup. Finance data sits at the core of several enterprise-wide transformations, and this role plays a central part in shaping how Finance capabilities evolve across the Group.
About our team
Meet the Finance Architecture team. Our role is to define clear architecture direction for Finance domains and ensure solutions are aligned with Nordea’s business strategy, regulatory obligations, and long-term transformation agenda. We work closely with business and technology leaders in a shared Service Area leadership model to enable sustainable and effective change.
What you’ll be doing
Main responsibilities in this role:
- Lead the Finance Architecture portfolio through strong leadership and alignment, creating clarity, accountability and predictability while delivering against business objectives.
- Owning and developing architecture strategies, target and transition architectures for Finance domains
- Acting as architectural lead and sparring partner to senior business, technology, and leadership stakeholders
- Ensuring architecture governance and compliance with Nordea standards, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite
- Building and nurturing a strong community of solution architects and senior technologists, fostering collaboration and architectural excellence
Who you are
This is the right role for you if you are a senior architecture leader who combines strategic thinking with strong execution capability. You are comfortable operating at all levels of the organisation and communicate complex architecture topics in a clear, structured, and engaging way. You build trust, create transparency, and balance long-term architectural vision with short-term delivery needs in a complex, regulated environment.
Your background and skills include:
- Strong stakeholder management experience, including communicating and getting buy-in from senior stakeholders.
- Several years of experience working with architecture disciplines, supported by a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or similar.
- Extensive experience in enterprise architecture and solution governance, preferably within banking, finance, or other regulated organisations
- Strong understanding of Finance domains, including data, reporting, analytics, and regulatory considerations
- Experience defining and governing target and transition architectures from EA level down to solution level
It would be ideal if you also:
- Have experience with data platforms, analytics, or AI-driven solutions
- Bring a background as a data architect, or deep experience working in data-intensive Finance domains
- Have worked with modern integration patterns, APIs, or large-scale platforms
