We are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer, to join the Compliance Testing and Monitoring area in Group Compliance and contribute to the overall planning, execution, delivery and quality of compliance testing and monitoring activities. 

 

About our team
 

Meet the Group Compliance Central Monitoring team. Our role is to enable the Nordea Bank Board of Directors and senior management to manage their accountabilities for compliance risks by providing verified assessments of risk mitigating actions and controls in place. Our activities also enable management’s fact based decision making on compliance risks. In addition we give support, advice and training on monitoring to our colleagues in different business area compliance units.

 

Our team consist of 12 passionate compliance specialists located in Poland, Finland, Norway and Estonia.

What you’ll be doing  
 

Main responsibilities in this role 

  • Leading and/or delivering monitoring activities by assessing the compliance risk management practices focusing on key regulatory and conduct compliance areas (non- financial crime), such as market integrity, customer outcomes, data privacy, etc., across Nordea Group.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of processes and controls for managing compliance risk within the organisation, evaluating root causes and providing opinions on the overall risk management practices for processes.  
  • Providing leadership and direction on the application of the monitoring/testing methodology to your colleagues.
  • Validating monitoring observations with key stakeholders ensuring factual accuracy.
  • Performing quality checks on testing and monitoring documentation and ensuring timely reporting of activities and updates in the Annual Testing and Monitoring Plan.
  • Updating the existing guidelines and instructions and taking part in the development of the testing and monitoring methodology.

 

Who you are
 

This is the right role for you if have several years’ work experience (within regulatory compliance/risk and internal/external audit or testing), have a high degree of integrity and an ability to take initiative and ownership of your work. To succeed in this role, we believe that you are structured, pragmatic, able to express thoughts in a concise manner, and you are known for your analytical thinking and a keen eye for detail. We hope you are flexible and open minded team player and take the responsibility for developing your own skills. 

  

Your background and skills include:

  • A solid experience in leading compliance monitoring/ testing or internal/external audit activities preferably from the financial sector. 
  • An experience in managing various projects/audits at the same time in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Excellent communication skills in English language, and find it easy to build relationships at all levels.
      

It would be ideal if you also…

  • Have a good understanding of best practices related to control framework and risk management from a compliance angle.
  • Are proficient in using Excel and SharePoint.
  • Have an experience with data visualisation.
