Together, we impact millions of people's daily lives by ensuring they can access our solutions anytime, anywhere, while safeguarding their personal data and wealth. Join us in making an impact on the banking industry.

About this opportunity

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Data Analyst (Expert IT Analyst) who has skills to do hands-on data and requirement analysis work. The right candidate also understands other aspects of software development: Are we making decisions within our architectural vision? Are we able to improve our tech stack? Do we simplify our solutions? Are we focusing on the right things?

Your main responsibilities will be around the consolidation and harmonization, sourcing, storage, and distribution of Payments Data to other solutions or reporting. This also includes integrations supporting different end-to-end payment flows in Nordea's target payment architecture.

We have adopted agile ways of working based on SAFe, and use Jira and Confluence as core tools in our ways of working.

What you'll be doing:

  • Eliciting requirements (functional and non-functional) by collaborating with different stakeholders in a complex environment. Our vision is to go beyond requirements and understand purpose
  • Interacting with product owners and stakeholders to clarify, elicit, and translate requirements into implementation specifications
  • Communicating effectively both orally and in writing to align the wide range of stakeholders on shared objectives
  • Data mapping, data modeling, solution design, and working with information architects
  • Contributing to solution design, maintainability, and architecture of applications
  • Designing both near real-time data pipelines and pipelines for traditional analytics
  • Performing quantitative data analysis to understand identified issues, and explaining implications and recommending solutions
  • Collaborating with developers and test engineers
  • Engaging with many different stakeholders. The person we are looking for is communicative and has skills to build relationships
  • Taking responsibility for requirements documentation (including use cases) and quality improvement
  • Accessing complex and distributed datasets and performing statistical analysis
  • Promoting analytical excellence by influencing colleagues, challenging assumptions/old ways of working, and promoting best practices across teams

The role is based in Finland or Poland.

Who you are

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in being at our best – and that we imagine you share with us.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:

  • Are a team player who takes ownership, builds cross-functional relationships, and loves sharing knowledge
  • Have a consultant mindset – actively participate in multiple initiatives at once
  • Can communicate constructively, and contribute to a productive work environment and good atmosphere in the team
  • Are an experienced analyst, always seeking the best solution

Your experience and background:

  • 5 years of experience in designing data intensive solutions, data architectures, and integration patterns
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in the payment domain (ISO20022 standard, SEPA, and Swift messages) and the dynamics of the banking sector
  • Understanding of the importance of requirement elicitation techniques and analysis
  • Expertise in ensuring that business requirements are translated into functional and non-functional specifications
  • Experience with AI (Copilot, LLM, and agentic solutions) and the ability to drive new ways of working in our ambition to adopt AI to deliver faster and more automated solutions
  • Excellent skills in SQL (Snowflake, MSSQL, or similar RDBMS)
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, and experience with international collaboration with different stakeholder groups and cultures

It is beneficial if you have:

  • Experience with one or more cloud platforms (Snowflake/Azure/Google)
  • Understanding of practices like domain-driven design, event-sourcing architecture patterns, microservices architecture, and clean code
  • Understanding of CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, REST, Maven, and JUnit, and experience building distributed, highly available, and high throughput applications
  • Experience with scalable data products and the concept of removing barriers for users in becoming data driven
  • Experience with participating in building agentic solutions
