Meet the Letter of Engagement team. Our role is to transform how corporate letters of engagement (audit reports) are generated and managed in Nordea by building a comprehensive Data Foundation and application from the ground up. Our team is a newly formed, agile cross-functional team of 6-8 professionals located primarily in Gdańsk, Poland, and also cooperating with specialists from all Nordic countries. We report to the Service Area Corporate Technology and work closely with Enterprise Architecture, Business Stakeholders, and IT teams across the Nordics. Our mission is to modernize one of Nordea's most crucial data processes, starting with Sweden and expanding across our markets.
Our technology stack includes, but is not limited to: Java, Python, Azure Data Platform, Power BI, REST APIs, Microservices Architecture, Git, Docker, AI/ML frameworks, and Data modeling tools. We are looking for a Senior IT Analyst / Data Scientist to join our team in tackling one of the organization's most exciting data challenges.
What you'll be doing:
- Data Analysis & Mapping: Conduct comprehensive analysis of current as-is processes and legacy systems, identifying data lineage and mapping relationships between systems
- Data Modeling: Create robust data models for the new Data Foundation, ensuring scalability and integration capabilities
- Source System Investigation: Identify and analyze data sources to ensure solution independence from legacy applications
- Technical Documentation: Document data flows, system dependencies, and technical specifications for enterprise architecture review
- Integration Planning: Support the design of integrations with upstream data sources and evaluate technical feasibility
- AI & Innovation: Explore and evaluate opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance data processing, analysis, and reporting capabilities
Who you are

Your background and skills include:
- 5+ years of experience as a Senior IT Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar role in enterprise data environments
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and system integration with SQL and analytical platforms
- Strong background in agile methodologies and stakeholder management
- Understanding of AI/ML technologies and their practical applications in data transformation
It would be ideal if you also have:
- Knowledge of legacy system modernization and data governance frameworks
- Familiarity with Nordic banking regulations and corporate reporting requirements
- Experience with financial services data, audit reporting, or regulatory compliance processes
