Senior Integration Lead - SAP BTP
Gdańsk, PL, 80-309 Łódź, PL, 93-281 Warszawa, PL, 02-460
Job ID: 4728
Welcome to Group Technology, where we pride ourselves on engineering solutions and direct Nordea’s transformation by providing a holistic technological view and structured understanding of the bank, and its surrounding environment to enable the Customer Vision and the Business Strategy.
We are looking for a Senior Integration Lead to take ownership of a complex enterprise integration landscape across HR. This is not only a development role. We are looking for someone who can review the existing integration setup, challenge inefficient patterns, define a migration roadmap, improve monitoring and supportability, and help build internal integration capability.
Nordea is a place where traditions meet tomorrow. We're not just a bank, we're a tech employer on a mission to evolve finance securely and responsibly. Together, we impact millions of people’s daily lives by ensuring they can access our solutions anytime, anywhere, while safeguarding their personal data and wealth. Join us in making an impact on the banking industry.
About our team
Meet the Group Functions Technology team. Our role is to provide end-to-end technology delivery and application ownership for Nordea's Group Functions, ensuring that functions such as People, Finance, Risk, Compliance and MarCom have secure, reliable and scalable technology solutions that support business operations, regulatory requirements and strategic transformation.
What you'll be doing
Main responsibilities in this role:
• Take ownership of the integration landscape across HR and related business domains.
• Review existing IBM DataStage and SAP BTP integrations, including data flows, schedules, message volumes, dependencies and failure points.
• Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary data movement, including full-load patterns, duplicate interfaces and legacy batch processing.
• Define and maintain a roadmap for migrating legacy integrations from IBM DataStage to SAP BTP.
• Design, build and improve integrations using SAP BTP capabilities, especially SAP Integration Suite / Cloud Integration.
• Work with SAP SuccessFactors, SAP RISE / S/4HANA-related integrations, APIs, file-based transfers and event-driven patterns.
• Establish standards for integration design, naming, documentation, monitoring, alerting and incident handling.
• Improve operational stability by strengthening logging, observability, error handling and support procedures.
• Work closely with external consultants, internal IT teams, architects, application owners, HR, Finance and vendors.
• Secure knowledge transfer from external parties and reduce long-term dependency on third-party vendors.
• Support audits, compliance, access control and security requirements relevant to a regulated financial institution.
• Act as a senior advisor on integration architecture, integration governance and platform evolution.
Who you are
This is the right role for you if you have strong hands-on experience and the ability to lead technical change in a complex enterprise environment.
Your background and skills include:
• Solid experience with enterprise integration architecture and integration lifecycle management.
• Hands-on experience with SAP BTP, preferably SAP Integration Suite.
• Experience with SAP SuccessFactors integrations, APIs and HR data flows.
• Experience with integration patterns such as batch, real-time, event-driven, API-led and file-based integrations.
• Strong understanding of REST, SOAP, OData, XML, JSON, SFTP, certificates, OAuth and related security concepts.
• Experience reviewing and improving existing integrations, not only building new ones.
• Ability to analyse high-volume message flows and identify unnecessary, inefficient or risky integration patterns.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, logging, error handling and operational support of integrations.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation, interface specifications and migration roadmaps.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A pragmatic mindset: able to balance target architecture with business continuity and delivery constraints.
It would be ideal if you also have experience with:
• IBM DataStage or migration away from legacy ETL platforms.
• SAP RISE / S/4HANA integration scenarios.
• Enterprise HR and Finance integration landscapes.
• Banking, financial services or other regulated environments.
• API Management, Event Mesh, SAP BTP Cockpit, Cloud Connector or related SAP BTP services.
• Data privacy, access governance and audit requirements.
• Integration cost optimisation and message-volume reduction.
