We are looking for a Senior IT infrastructure and support engineer to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for our backend infrastructure both at the server and application level. You will actively work with AI automation tools and be responsible for handling our Data Pipelines. You will be ensuring a secure, stable and robust IT application landscape.

About our team  

 

Meet the IT Asset Lifecycle Tools team. We add value by providing applications and tools in the area of IT Asset Management with focus on Software Asset Management, such as software lifecycle and software license management. As a Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist, you’ll play a valuable role in developing, maintaining and operating the tools used by all in Nordea.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • End-to-end responsibility for infrastructure used by team members
  • Ensure reliability, performance and security of the systems and services
  • Monitor performance and proactively address any issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain required solutions
  • Ensure adherence to all organizational standard
  • High focus on automation and integration
  • Collaborate with our vendors, other teams and users by practising your soft skills
  • Assist in design and implementation of complex enterprise level set-up of selected tools 
  • Contribute to Nordea’s Cloud and AI Journey by implement the solutions when it makes sense 

 

This role is in Gdynia/Gdansk in Poland. We follow hybrid model of working. You’ll join a highly skilled and motivated team that have focus on delivering quality and provide professional service.  

 

Who you are

 

This is the right role for you if you like working with IT infrastructure solutions and are keen to learn and develop in your role. Your curiosity of AI and automation principles and knowledge to implement the same to enable efficiency, fault-tolerance and robustness of our solution. You also strive in a collaborative environment and cooperation between teams members is an attitude you admire.

 

Your background and skills include:

  • Good driving skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to manoeuvre complex technical landscapes and organisations
  • Relevant experience or education in IT, computer science, engineering or similar
  • Strong Linux administration skills (e.g. RHEL/CentOS) and understanding of system performance
  • Automation using Ansible, Python or Bash scripting
  • Experience building and maintaining automated data pipelines and workflows
  • Understanding of observability and monitoring, e.g. Grafana (and related alerting concepts)
  • Ability to work with infrastructure and platform automation across complex environments
  • Practical knowledge of containers and container platforms (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and version control practices (e.g. Git-based workflows)
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze and improve reliability of automated systems and pipelines
  • Good communication skills in English and ability to collaborate across technical teams
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience and willigness to learn new together with the team

 

It would be ideal if you also:

  • Develop and operate observability dashboards and alerting (Grafana/InfluxDB) and drive proactive capacity planning
  • Build and maintain automation for infrastructure/middleware provisioning and service deployments (Ansible/AWX/Jenkins)
