You will support a team of highly skilled software developers/ engineers in their ambition to  build & deliver on Card products & payment services for the bank

About this opportunity


Welcome to the Cards Technology - Software Development Capability team. We add value by ensuring that our customers’ day-to-day card payment needs & services are met with high quality solutions. As a capability leader, you’ll play a valuable role in building up effective software development capabilities. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to work hands-on as an expert to build & maintain our exciting technical solutions in close collaboration with our key stakeholders.  


What you’ll be doing: 

  • Managing a global team of Software developers and engineers, including both internal employees and external consultants 
  • Leveraging your own skills as expert software engineer to deliver great products and services to our customers
  • Identify and drive initiatives for capability uplift within Cards Technology, including but not limited to competence development, knowledge sharing, deployment and use of relevant standards, frameworks and tools
  • Serving as a member of the Cards Technology Leadership Team
  • Supporting team members in their development and in delivering business value
  • Establishing and maintaining strong partnership relations with stakeholders

To succeed in this role, we believe that you have:

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and collaborative skills
  • Willingness to expand knowledge and develop own leadership competencies
  • Skills in coaching team members in the areas of performance, standards and work methods
  • Proven technical ability and development experience for large or complex systems on
  • Latest technologies like Java, Restful API, microservices, Spring, Spring Boot, messaging system Kafka or MQ, Docker container development, orchestration with Kubernetes

OR

  • Classic technologies like COBOL, IMS/DL1, Database, JCL, Endevor and other Mainframe tools.

 

Your experience and background:  

  • Experience leading technical solution creation, providing direction & guidance for the team
  • Degree in computer science, engineering, financials or similar
  • Great leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Good to have Domain knowledge of Banking systems
