The current IT landscape and organizational structure at Nordea present a challenge, as multiple organization entities contain the same data per country (account, loan, mortgage), and there is a need to consolidated it into one authoritative source. In the Mortgage domain we have got the exciting challenged to do this.
Hence, we seek an Expert IT Architect to drive and make solid architecture from various providers system into one authoritative source with the challenges that comes such as:
- Integration pattern
- Completeness
- Data Quality
Providing technical leadership and mentoring to teams and bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, focusing on data governance, quality, and the strategic use of data to create innovative data products. This is a full-time, permanent role.
About our team
You will join a dedicated team of six, located across Denmark, Sweden, Poland, and Norway, focused on elevating our technology and data estate, enabling scalable solutions, and partnering with business units to deliver customer value efficiently.
What you'll be doing
Main responsibilities in this role:
- Lead the Tech & Data strategy for Mortgages, designing and implementing scalable data product architectures, including defining the technical direction for data products and platforms
- Ensure solutions comply with Data Reference Architecture and Nordea Group Architecture standards
- Collaborate with Group Data Architecture and agile teams to refine solution designs and manage dependencies and risks
- Guide and govern architectural principles and best practices, building consensus among stakeholders
- Drive strategic architectural discussions to reduce complexity, improve agility and cost efficiencies, reduce risks, and enhance business capabilities
- Assess stakeholder needs and keep a comprehensive view of both current and future application and IT infrastructure landscapes, identifying any gaps. Use this insight to develop architectural visions and roadmaps that align with and advance the organization’s strategic goals.
Who you are

- Skilled in facilitation, problem-solving, and translating business needs into technical requirements

- Ability to provide technical oversight and guide development teams.
Your background and skills include:
- 15+ years as an architect, with expertise in the financial industry and loan domain
- Strong communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in conflict resolution, quality control, and critical thinking
- Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture, data modelling and governance
- Experience conceptualizing and deploying data products
It would be ideal if you also:
- Experience in financial services or banking, and with data products
- Familiarity with modern APIs, database technologies, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Snowflake)
