At Nordea, we know our customers’ needs are changing – and we’re deeply committed to meeting them with the financial solutions of tomorrow. We’re creating an agile environment where we’re harnessing the power of technology – one where you can make an impact. So bring your skills, ideas and unique background. About this opportunity
Welcome to Network Operations Oversight team. Would you like to be part of a journey where we create value by ensuring the security, stability, resilience, and continuous improvement of our network services? We are responsible for the operational health of critical network services, maintaining technology standards, managing service-related risks, and supporting strategic decision-making across the network domain.
As a Network Operations Expert, you will play a key role in advancing operational excellence across a complex enterprise environment. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, vendors, service providers, engineering teams and key stakeholders to ensure high-quality, reliable, and secure network services. You will contribute to service performance reviews, operational readiness, incident learnings, and improvement initiatives that strengthen our overall network landscape.
Working together with colleagues across the Nordic countries and Poland, you will contribute directly to our success by enhancing service quality, promoting best practices, and supporting the delivery of a stable, secure, and future-ready network environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead in-depth technical investigations into complex network issues, service degradation, infrastructure dependencies, and remediation options, gaining broad exposure to world-class modern infrastructure and a diverse range of enterprise network technologies
- Take technical ownership of business-critical incidents, working side by side with highly experienced engineering teams, technology vendors, and suppliers to exchange knowledge, accelerate troubleshooting, define effective recovery actions, and restore services with confidence
- Turn service reports, monitoring data, trends, and recurring issues into actionable insights, while continuously developing best-in-class monitoring capabilities and operational dashboards that reveal service health, performance, risks, and emerging issues
- Act as the technical lead for Root Cause Analysis within the Problem Management process, expanding your expertise as you uncover underlying causes, shape preventive actions, and support the Problem Manager in driving them through to implementation
- Plan and deliver business-critical network changes across complex, interconnected technologies and solutions, combining technical validation, risk assessment, implementation coordination, and rollback readiness to achieve safe and predictable outcomes
- Strengthen the security and resilience of large-scale network services by overseeing vulnerability management and security baseline compliance, assessing exposure and business risk, identifying control gaps, prioritising remediation, and following mitigation actions through to closure
- Bring your technical judgement to operational and supplier reviews, collaborating with recognised specialists across countries and technology domains while evaluating evidence, constructively challenging delivery quality and corrective measures, and ensuring agreed actions, owners, deadlines, and dependencies remain on track
- Help shape reliable, supportable services and the future of our network landscape by validating the operational readiness of new and changed solutions, broadening your experience across acceptance criteria, support procedures, escalation paths, recovery instructions, service dependencies, and ownership across engineering and operations
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, sharing knowledge with experienced colleagues and ensuring that operational procedures, configuration records, and recovery instructions remain accurate, current, and practical to use across teams
- Drive transparency and continuous improvement by maintaining prioritised action, risk, issue, and improvement backlogs, and by translating complex topics into concise status updates, management summaries, and clear recommendations that influence decisions in governance forums
You’ll join a newly established and ambitious team with a real opportunity to influence the future shape of Nordea’s network. The role is based in any of our offices in Poland (Łódź, Gdynia, Gdańsk or Warsaw).

- Take ownership and act proactively, including in situations with unclear boundaries, dependencies, or requirements
- Are fluent in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly, facilitate discussions, and constructively challenge decisions to achieve the best outcome for Nordea
- Apply strong problem-solving, prioritization, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills

- Extensive experience in network operations within a large, complex enterprise environment, covering a broad range of network technologies, platforms, and operational tools, combined with a good understanding of core ITIL processes, including Incident, Change, and Problem Management
- Strong operational knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center (formerly Cisco DNA Center) and logging and monitoring platforms such as Grafana, Splunk, Syslog-based solutions, and LogicMonitor, including assurance, health and performance monitoring, inventory and configuration visibility, software image management, event analysis and data correlation, technical investigation, alert definition and modification, monitoring threshold customization, and the creation of operational dashboards that provide actionable visibility into service health, performance, and emerging risks
- Proven expert-level operational and troubleshooting experience with Cisco ISE, including authentication and authorization flows, 802.1X, RADIUS and TACACS+, policy enforcement, endpoint profiling, certificate-related issues, and complex integrations with network devices
