About the opportunity

 

Meet the Vikings team. We are contributing to a project which is instrumental in building a compliant and scalable savings platform that meets the evolving needs of our customers. Our team is multinational and supportive group of people located in Tricity, Sweden, Denmark and India. We are Agile and we collaborate cross functionally to build a quality software within Wealth Technology Service Area.

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer who would join our scrum team, working on a data-oriented project. 
 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing and maintaining robust backend systems using Java, SQL and related technologies
  • Cooperating with Quality Assurance, Business Analyst, Product Managers and Product Owners
  • Optimizing data processing workflows leveraging Hadoop (Cloudera), and other Big Data technologies
  • Be responsible for full product development life cycle
  • Performing regular code reviews and committing the code on a daily basis
  • Participating in setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery

 

Who you are


This is the right role for you if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in data processing and software engineering 
  • A passion for solving complex technical challenges
  • Strong collaboration skills and enjoy working in team-oriented atmosphere
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions
  • Preferably, have some experience in a data-driven environment, working with cloud technologies


Your background and skills include: 

  • Extensive experience in Java development (version 1.8 and higher)
  • Proficiency level in data processing - SQL and Shell Scripting
  • Strong understanding of software design principles and best practices
  • Very good knowledge of English written and spoken
  • Preferably some experience in work witch cloud technologies, preferably Hadoop (Cloudera)

 

It would be ideal if you also have some knowledge in following technologies:

  • Cloud technologies, especially Hadoop (Cloudera)
  • Other cloud technologies like Snowflake, AWS, Data Warehouse
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
