We are now looking for Experienced Software Developer with wide knowledge on LLM’s and AI development for our Architecture & Engineering team in Nordea Finance. About this opportunity



Welcome to Nordea Finance Architecture and Engineering team.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design and build AI/ML infrastructure and an Agentic AI platform ecosystem in hybrid environments (AWS cloud, Microsoft AI Studio & AI Foundry and on-premises Kubernetes)
  • Create integration patterns and APIs that enable business teams to consume AI services
  • Ensure security and compliance for AI workloads in a regulated environment
  • Partner in a cross-functional team with business, AI engineers, software developers, architects and DevOps to solve business problems with AI and Agents, and act as an AI champion sharing knowledge and best practices across Nordea Finance
  • Bridge AWS managed services, Microsoft AI services and on-premises open-source solutions
  • Take ownership of technical decisions within your domain, contributing to solution design, architecture and the governance model for Agentic AI in Nordea Finance

 

Our tech stack combine open-source and commercial products and consists of for example Java / Spring, Python, SQL, Bash, AWS, Docker, Ansible, Podman, Jenkins and Bitbucket. Nordea Finance is also early adopter in Nordea on Microsoft AI Studio and Foundry solutions which will be integrated to be part of our standard development processes and tools.

 

This role is in Helsinki HQ and we follow hybrid model of working.

Here are some practical things that would definitely help you succeed in this job:

  • At least 5 years of professional work experience from relevant IT field
  • Familiarity with AI or ML solution deployment requirements on AWS or Azure cloud
  • Ability to clearly communicate governance concepts for a non-technical audience, and educate multiple stakeholders on responsible AI
  • Understanding of Predictive & Generative AI model governance and mitigation processes for associated risks e.g. hallucination, fairness, explainability, and autonomy risks in Agentic AI
  • Understanding of main steps in AI lifecycle with operational concepts and best practices
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building scalable, maintainable codebases
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries, with the ability to implement and optimize models for production use
  • Fluent in English, knowledge on other Nordic languages is seen as advantage do to close co-operation with local business teams and users

 

It would be beneficial if you know/have:

  • Deep interest in or experience with Generative AI, Machine Learning and Agentic AI (e.g., multi-agent solutions and orchestration)
  • Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) for connecting AI models with external data sources
  • Knowledge of self-hosting LLMs, including performance tuning, caching, and cost optimization
  • Education background: Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related field
  • Problem solving skills with willingness to continuous learning and self-development; experience of the Nordea Finance IT landscape is an advantage
