We are looking for an AI Platform Lead to drive the development and adoption of AI-powered solutions that strengthen our ability to detect and investigate financial crime. The role is permanent and can be based in Helsinki.  

 

About our team

 

Meet the AI & Machine Learning team. Our role is to improve how we detect and investigate financial crime with the help of AI and machine learning to keep our customers, Nordea and society safe. Our team is about 25 people working out of Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen as a part of the Group Financial Crime Prevention (GFCP) unit that provides financial crime prevention services to all of the bank.

Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Define the technical strategy for the AI Platform spanning predictive, generative and agentic workflows.
  • Design production-grade services, CICD pipelines and infrastructure as code with sound architecture principles & scalability.
  • Collaborate with Business, Architecture and Technology stakeholders to align business priorities and technical decisions.
  • Champion engineering excellence and keep abreast of emerging AI technologies.
  • Weigh tradeoffs, distill technical complexity into accessible, clear communication for non-technical audience.
  • Design and implement monitoring for predictive AI (drift, performance), generative AI (token usage, latency) workflows.
  • Design and implement cost optimization & FinOps for AI workloads.
  • Handle IT management processes such as incident management, risk and change management.
  • Monitor the established operations support channels and service infrastructure provisioning & troubleshooting in line with defined SLAs.

Your background and skills include:

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Cloud native expert in designing and building production grade applications and services on AWS and other cloud providers (Azure or GCP).
  • Practical experience with Python development and managing complex environments with Terraform.
  • Experience working with AI/ML platforms such as Amazon SageMaker, Bedrock, AgentCore and Data platforms such as S3, AWS Glue, Lake Formation.
  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across multiple domains, including expectations management.

 

It would be ideal if you also have:

  • Experience with agile methodologies and product development lifecycle. 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, architecture and data science teams.
  • Professional experience working in regulated industries i.e. Banking, Government, etc.
