We are looking for an Actuary or Senior Actuary (depending on your background) for a full-time employment agreement to Nordea Life Assurance Finland Ltd.

 

About our team

 

Meet the local actuarial team. Our team consists of six actuaries and we are part of Finance and Balance Sheet unit of Nordea Life Assurance Finland Ltd. The team is based in Kaisaniemi, Helsinki. Our role is to ensure that both life and non-life company can keep their obligations to the customers.

Main responsibilities in this role: 

  • Calculations of technical provisions for Finnish Accounting Standards and reporting to Finnish FSA for non-life company
  • Coordinating of reinsurance strategy and reinsurance arrangements for life and non-life company
  • Participating in Solvency II calculations and reporting for non-life company
  • Actuarial support to other company’s units especially risk management team
  • Actuarial perspective for different product development processes especially for non-life company

 

Who you are

 

This is the right role for you if you work in a goal-oriented, professional and achieving manner and provide high-quality results under time constraints. You communicate well with different units and organizations, enabling a flexible cooperation within your networks.

 

Your background and skills include:

  • You have an academic degree e.g. a Masters' degree in Mathematics or similar and several years of relevant working experience from life and/or non-life insurance business.
  • We expect you to have strong IT skills in MS Excel and preferably also experience of SAS and SQL, Cran R and C#.
  • Fluent in Finnish and in English (both verbally and in writing), professional level.

 

It would be ideal if you also:

  • Have completed a qualified actuary examination (actuary approved by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health ("SHV")) or a part of it.
