Would you like to play an important role in our journey towards further automation and data driven decision making within FX trading and sales? We are now looking for a data scientist to join the FX Data & Insights team on shaping and implementing the future Explore, analyse, and apply predictive modelling across the FX franchise to uncover actionable insights and recommendations from data.
About our team
Welcome to the FX Data & Insights team. Our mission is to deliver high-quality and actionable insights by delivering, analysing and modelling data to support the FX franchise. To achieve this, we rely on a robust data foundation enabled by automated pipelines, MLOps practices, and strong data governance. We support both the trading and sales teams by analysing the profitability of our FX offerings using advanced data analysis techniques. In addition, we provide performance insights to our developers to help optimize the FX platform.

What you’ll be doing
As the Data Scientist on the MBT FX team, you will play a critical role in shaping the data strategy and automation efforts that drive the future of our FX franchise.
Main responsibilities in this role:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and other data scientists to define impactful projects that support FX trading and sales.
- Take the lead on the development and implementation of data-driven and automation initiatives that enable insight and enhance decision-making.
- Working on complex time-series datasets, creating data and machine learning pipelines for clustering, classification and regression.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of our data foundation by ensuring high data quality, integrity, and scalability to support analytical needs.
You will be joining a team of pro-active and committed colleagues, with a strong sense of ownership, seated on the largest trading floor in Scandinavia. The role is based in Helsinki.

- Have a curious mindset, self-driven, innovative and feel motivated by working in a fast paced environment
Your background and skills include:
- A master’s degree within the disciplines of Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or any other relevant field
- Experience with analysing large data sets and applying both traditional statistical modelling and machine learning practices to provide insights.
- Experience with development and implementation of quantitative or statistical models.
- Professional coding skills in Python and strong experience with SQL.
- Familiarity with tech stacks, like Git, Artifactory, Docker, etc. and experience exposing models via APIs is a plus, but not a requirement.
