About this opportunity

Welcome to the Big data & analytics platform team. We add value by providing best in class big data analytical capabilities both batch and transactional to Nordea Bank while securing optimal confidentiality, integrity and availability. As the Expert Big Data Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll play a valuable role in ensuring business continuity and enablement focusing both on compliance as well as fast time to market.

What you’ll be doing:

• Engineer, test, implement and document new platform features and capabilities
• Provide platform and capability automation using ansible, python, bash and terraform
• Engage with business and technology stakeholders to support use-case enablement
• 3rd level (expert) operational support on incidents and problems

You’ll join a highly capable, diverse and distributed team of eight Big data infrastructure experts spanning all the Nordics and Poland. The role is based in Helsinki, Finland or Warsaw / Tricity, Poland.

Your experience and background:  

• You are an expert on Linux systems – understanding data and the full stack of distributed computing
• You know the ins and outs of Cloudera Data Platforms as well as the inner workings of the eco system components like: Apache Hive, hbase, YARN, Impala, Ranger, Ozone, API, etc.
• Everything-as-Code. You are always automating, using tools like API, Ansible, Python and bash
• You have a deep grasp of hardening security: encryption, vulnerability management and limiting attack vectors. You may have worked as a security expert previously
• Experience with Java or the JVM generally considered a plus
