About the Role


10+ years solutioning experience in Credit Risk & Collateral Domain for the banking and/or allied industries in the financial sector. The IT Expert Architect can operate at an enterprise level in context of defining the solutions within the domain and lead the execution through development of detailed architecture design enablers that can be delivered through programme implementations and/or specific project executions aligned to SAFe. 


The candidate through previous industry expertise has demonstrated ability to be a trusted business advisor that can shape strategy, develop technology implementation options and engineer solutions that achieve the business and technology objectives. The role mandates defining the target architecture vision for the domain and conceptualise the same in transitional steps that can then be delivered through working software across the full SDLC. This manifest itself in the ability to govern, mentor and overseeing the design and implementation work managed through other architecture / engineering resources and developers.


This architect defines and ensures a comprehensive and coherent view across business process, information, systems and technology. They go beyond just designing IT systems to deliver business change, which may also be supported and enabled by SME’s, and engineers etc. 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage the credit risk domain projects through all phases of the project lifecycle from defining the strategic roadmap with business, developing the technology blueprint, planning the phased IT implementation, setting up the team and the governance structures related to the production rollout / project activities.
  • Ability to translate strategic goals through transitional delivery steps, even if that implies justified technical debt to achieve the business outcome.
  • Lead Credit Risk and Collateral domain project with blended onshore / offshore teams that range in size from 5 to 25 team members.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across all business touch points in the domain related to channel integration, pricing, analytics, decisioning, debt collection, scoring and risk modelling.
  • Ability to initiate and recommend appropriate data governance processes, organisational models, and technologies to address the business needs.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on leading practices for the implementation of data governance, master data management and risk based pricing projects within financial services, preferably banking and insurance. 
  • Demonstrated experience in disruptive technologies that are defining the lending business in the financial sector associated with FinTech’s.
  • In-depth and experienced understanding of operational credit risk functions and capabilities in context of lending products and services in banking and/or insurance.
  • Industry best practice and implementation experience with global compliance legislation, regulatory and prudential standards impacting financial services that are associated but not limited to the following; know your customer, anti-money laundering, product origination/ bundling, risk based pricing, tax management, privacy, fraud, PSD2, et al.
  • Influence the business and technology direction at the divisional or enterprise level based on broad expertise across multiple software platforms and technologies.
  • Transfer knowledge and leading practices to internal staff
  • Work with C-level, VP-level, and Director-level executives to influence and position the domain capability.
  • Conduct "Whiteboard", knowledge and requirements gathering sessions with clients through the conceptualisation, design and implementation of new systems, middleware/API, and business intelligence solutions/ reporting solutions.


The role is based in Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen or Poland (Gdynia, Gdansk or Warsaw).




  • 10+ years of related work experience in the areas related to the Credit Risk domain i.e. Collateral Management, Debt Collection, Default Management, Risk Modelling, Regulatory Reporting, Decisioning, Scoring, Rating, Data Governance, Business Intelligence and/or Data Warehousing.
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a client-facing consulting delivery role managing in an onsite / offshore delivery model with emphasis on collaborative working through use of virtual teams.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts in simple terms; must be comfortable presenting solution design concepts and guiding solution design discussions / sessions.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as guide and mentor other team members, partners and customers.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to interact with senior executives.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks / opportunities concurrently.
  • Able to learn new skills quickly.
  • Ability to excel in a performance-based environment.
  • Candidates should be flexible / willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes, but is not limited to only SAFe.


Required Skills and Experience:


  • You work with clients to build a holistic view of the strategy, processes, information and information technology assets for their organisation.
  • You lead defining, developing and execution of enterprise solutions for a complete project or lead team(s) across multiple projects.
  • You perform functions that lead the integration of project solutions and technical governance.
  • Qualification: Minimum 10+ years’ experience, Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree Preferred).
  • Should have experience in developing target and transitional architecture design/s with an engineering mindset to ensure solution quality assurance on both the functional and non -functional requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing Credit Risk solutions in larger Financial organisations. Experience in full – service banking institutions across all lines of business i.e. Retail, Wholesale, Institutional, Wealth and Insurance would be of significant value.
  • Demonstrable experience within integration technologies, methodologies and solution architecture patterns to support batch, real-time and near – real-time data integration to support analytical, operational, compliance and prudential related reporting associated to credit and risk management.
  • Should be proficient in business analysis, integration & orchestration, technical solution design, risk & quality management.
  • Should have a passion for developing architectural solutions that are engineered to perform.
  • Architect and design advanced solutions using Pega 8
  • Extensive experience of defining integration solution between applications over common integration patterns (SOAP, REST, Message Based, files based)
