About this opportunity

 

We’re hiring 15 summer trainees for our IT/Tech/Design units. At Nordea Group’s IT units and Group Technology, you will join an awesome group of people from across the world that delivers solutions to our customers to help them improve their lives and reach their goals. Career Areas

 

You’ll have the chance to explore and develop in such as:

  • Software Development: Work with modern technologies to deliver digital solutions. Relevant skills include but not limited to Java, JavaScript, Angular, TypeScript, Spring Boot, Kotlin, Mobile development for Android and iOS
  • Quality Assurance & Testing: Ensure software quality through automation, code reviews, and testing tools. Relevant skills include but not limited to Python and Robot Framework
  • Visual Design, UX/UI designer: Work with our technical product development teams, User researcher teams and/or digital illustrative and graphical work for UIs
  • Requirements & Analysis: Collaborate with business and tech teams to shape high-quality IT solutions
  • Engineering Systems: Set up development environments, automate build/deployment, and analyze performance
  • Core Technology: Maintain infrastructure, support applications, and help users. Relevant skills include but not limited to monitoring tool knowledge, Splunk, Appdynamics, Grafana, and Sysdig
  • Cyber Security: Help protect Nordea from cyber threats by developing and improving security processes
  • AI, ML and Data science: Draft and deliver big data and analytics within a large-scale organisation, creating connections between business and technology. Relevant skills include but not limited to Statistics & Probability, SQL, Python, Power BI, AI agents, and LLM

Positions are available in Helsinki or Oulu. The earliest start date is April 1st 2026, and the summer season lasts until September 30th. The minimum working period is three months, but four months are considered beneficial. Our summer trainee opportunities in IT/Tech are full-time, 37-38 hours per week depending on the collective agreement. 

 

The salary will be set according to the collective agreement. Depending on the role, location and your previous experience, you’ll enjoy a fair and competitive monthly salary between 2592€ and 3124€. To succeed in this role, we believe that you:

  • Are at least 18 years old 
  • Can work minimum 3 months during the summer period, starting either April, May, or June
  • Have started your bachelor’s or master’s degree studies in a relevant field
  • Are motivated, positive, and eager to learn (previous work experience is not required)
  • Have solid communication skills (English required in all roles, Finnish is a plus in few roles)
  • Can work both independently and as part of a team
  • Are interested in IT, business, customer service, legal, or banking
  • Have experience with IT projects or hobbies (an advantage)
