The banking industry is undergoing a period of dynamic change and Transaction Banking (TxB) – the Payments, Cards and Trade Solution area – is at the heart of the digital, instant and open revolution. We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist / Analytics Engineer with high stakeholder management skills to create actionable customer insights, identify new revenue opportunities, improve execution on strategies utilising data and further develop or analytical platform.

Main responsibilities in this role:
- Work closely with our most important stakeholders, understand their needs, capture requirements and conduct workshops with them.
- Functional leadership of the area software engineering and ML/AI to strengthen the team in the area.
- Utilise data analytics to build analytics products so our stakeholders can make important strategic decisions, grow income, improve operational efficiency and develop Nordea’s product offering.
- Identify business opportunities (e.g. sales leads, merchant intelligence opportunities, etc) utilising internal and external data.
- Apply data science techniques such as statistical modelling, machine learning and Artificial Intelligence.
- Be responsible for the development of our technical analytical platform to make it fit for purpose for Data Science.
- Support and collaborate closely with other team members.
Who you are
Your background and skills include:
- You have experience working as a Data Scientist or similar where you have experiences with analytical and quantitative problem solving using advanced statistical techniques, machine learning methods and AI.
- You have a business consulting mindset and are proactive working with stakeholders to understand their needs and how analytics can help them.
- You have good end-to-end software engineering skills.
- You have deep knowledge in SQL and programming, e.g. Python.
- Solid experience in Airflow, dbt and Snowflake (or similar tools).
- You are familiar with Power BI (or similar business intelligence tools).
- You have data/analytics engineering experience.
- You are business minded, analytical and have excellent communication skills in English (both in text and spoken).
- You are a social, curious and a pragmatic team player.
- Experience in Requirements Management and workshop facilitation would an advantage.
- Experience in Transaction Banking or Payments/Cards would be an advantage.
- You have a MSc/BSc/BA degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics or related quantitative degree.
