About this opportunity

Welcome to the Automation team. The Automation unit drives business process development and automation across the Group Finance, in the context of trading P&L, Risk, Capital, Accounting, Reporting, and other key areas around managing Nordea's financial performance. We add value by providing the wider Group Finance area with automation solutions and platforms and by educating our colleagues. As the Python Automation Developer in Group Finance, you’ll play a valuable role in valuable role supporting our Python platform (ADL/Sirius), where we deploy python processes, as well as designing and developing solutions for business units. You will get exposed to a large technology stack with fully integrated CI/CD pipelines and a broad set of stakeholders. Automation is high on the strategic agenda in Nordea, and your contribution will have a direct impact on our current and future strategic fulfilment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop automation solutions using Python and closely linked technologies following best practises
  • Lead and participate in automation workshops with process owners to identify automation opportunities
  • Lead small projects (less than three months) with the clear goal of automating manual tasks / processes (take on the role as scrum master)
  • Have an ongoing dialogue with our process owners on new functionality that is needed on the python automation platform (ADL/SIRIUS)


You’ll join a team of 5, located across the Nordics and in Poland with a diverse skillset. The role is based in Helsinki FI.

Your experience and background: 

  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, finance, economics, engineering, statistics or equivalent
  • Strong technical skills with at least 3 years of experience in Python programming on an enterprise level
  • Experience in solution design and software design patterns
  • Strong communication skills and project/stakeholder management experience

 

It would be also ideal if you would have experience in:

  • Experience working with trading P&L / risk / accounting / capital / financial reporting
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Knowledge within machine learning
