We would like to welcome you to an accomplished international team and work closely with Nordea's key staff in financial supervisory authority (ECB/SSM) interactions – and in your part support contribute to a safe and trusted Nordea? We are now looking for a Regulatory Strategic Partner (Chief Expert) to interact with the supervisor, provide advice within Nordea regarding supervisory expectations, coordination and managing of requests from the authorities and contribute to on-site inspections.

Welcome to Regulatory Affairs team. We add value by being a trusted partner to our external and internal stakeholders, and in supporting Nordea’s business, Group Functions and senior management by providing advice regarding supervisory expectations. As the Regulatory Strategic Partner (Chief Expert), you’ll play a valuable role in helping Nordea succeed in its cooperation with the authorities in a most efficient and appropriate manner. What you will be doing:

  • Act as an expert of supervisory expectations, offering advice and support to business units and group functions and senior management regarding authority interactions
  • Coordinate and drive authority interactions
  • Participate in and support authority interactions in close cooperation with internal stakeholders 
  • Contribute to on-site inspections (OSIs) as a Steering Committee member or as member of the Project Management and Interaction Office (PMIO)
  • Ensure that the respective Nordea’s regulatory communications are provided on time and are of high quality matching the supervisory expectations

 

You’ll join a international team of colleagues with a variety of backgrounds and skills. We work closely with other Nordea units and functions, and this is an opportunity for you to get first-hand insight into work with the SSM. 

 

The role is based in Helsinki; Copenhagen; Oslo; Stockholm.

  • Expertise in one or several risk areas, for example credit, capital, governance, market, operational/IT, climate risks, or liquidity risks

  • Can communicate effectively and concisely in speaking and writing
  • Have ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and drive projects
  • Have ability to connect dots and pick up on key elements whilst keeping the holistic overview
  • Have resilience to changing environments and flexibility to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously

 

Your experience and background:

  • Good understanding of risks related to banking
  • Preferably some understanding of banking supervision and regulatory framework
  • Experience in complex stakeholder management and communication tasks
  • Minimum of relevant working experience 5-10 years 
  • Professional level of English, both written and spoken
  • Suitable educational background, e.g. Master's degree in economics, finance, law, business administration, or similar
