We are looking for a an experienced Senior IT Developer to help shape the next generation of mobile bank application for Nordea’s private and corporate customers. About our team

 

Meet the Sales Funnel team. We are part of the SD MarTech & Sales Technology in Group Technology, working at the intersection of business, data, and technology to support Nordea’s digital sales ambition.

 

What we do


Our role is to enable effective digital sales across all customer channels. We focus on creating simple, relevant, and personalized experiences that help customers discover and engage with Nordea’s products and services.

 

How we work


We build solutions that bring together customer data, insights, and content to deliver meaningful interactions across channels such as mobile, online banking, and other digital touchpoints.

 

By combining data with technology, we help ensure that the right message reaches the right customer at the right time—while continuously learning and improving based on feedback and performance.

 

Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Designing and developing backend services using Java in a modern microservices architecture
  • Taking ownership of solution design and technical architecture for complex features and components
  • Collaborating closely with business stakeholders and analysts to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions 
  • Using AI-assisted (e.g. Gemini CLI, internal agents) development practices to improve engineering productivity
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning, helping the team maintain high engineering standards

Your background and skills include:

  • Strong experience with latest Java and Spring Framework
  • 5+ years of experience designing and building microservice-based systems with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, architecture, and modern development practices
  • Experience adapting AI tools (e.g. Gemini CLI or similar)  into everyday development workflows, such as code generation, refactoring, documentation, or test creation

 

It would be ideal if you also:

  • Are familiar with latest front-end dev & test frameworks (Angular/React & Cypress/Playwright)
  • Have experience with Docker/Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform and CI/CD pipelines
  • Have experience working in large corporate environments
