Helsinki, FI, 00500 København S, DK, 2300
Job ID: 5391
We are looking for an experienced Desk Quant to play a key role in shaping pricing, risk and data solutions across Nordea Markets. In this position, you will work at the intersection of quantitative modelling, engineering and business needs, with a high degree of ownership and close interaction with traders, sales and model developers.
About our team
Meet the Quantitative Solutions & Insights team. Our role is to develop and support tools and data used by Markets Trading and Sales for risk and pricing, curve building and model calibration.
Our team of five quants and data experts is part of Markets Business Technology and is located on our Copenhagen and Helsinki trading floors. We are expanding our two Quant hubs and are looking for someone to be part of that journey.
You will join a team that works very closely with stakeholders in Nordea Markets and across the value chain. We are involved in the full process from idea, applying mathematical models, sourcing data, developing and deploying tools – all with a strong focus on ongoing feedback and training of the end users.
Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in how we work and how we make decisions – and that we imagine you share with us.
What you’ll be doing

- Partner closely with traders, sales, model developers and technology teams to turn business needs into practical, scalable solutions
Who you are
This is the right role for you if you are a hands-on and experienced quantitative professional who enjoys working close to trading, sales and model developers and taking ownership of complex topics. You combine quantitative depth with a pragmatic mindset and are comfortable driving work forward across modelling, data and technology. You communicate clearly, build trust across functions and enjoy turning ideas into robust solutions.
Your background and skills include:
- Advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Economics or a related field
- Minimum three years of relevant experience in quantitative development, desk quant work, pricing, risk and financial products
- Strong programming skills (Python and Kotlin/Java is an advantage)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust across quantitative, business and technology teams
It would be ideal if you also:
- Have experience using AI for development
- Have worked with curve construction or model calibration
- Have experience with internal quant tooling such as quantum, ORCA-python, TRAC or Infinity
