About this opportunity
You will have the possibility to influence how people do digital banking and change Nordea to meet the future. You can specialize in backend (java micro-service). We are looking for people that are passionate about developing great software for our digital platform.
What you’ll be doing:
- Will design, create, and improve end to end solutions together with team members
- Are expected to take ownership of the code in your service area and ensure quality of the implementation
- Will also plan and coordinate the development effort with relevant stakeholders and other developers
This is a new permanent full-time position, located in our Helsinki (Vallila) HQ office.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:
- Are proficient in any JVM based language and Javascript/Typescript
- Have at least few years of professional experience in Spring Boot / Angular development
- Understand practices of reactive, OOP and functional programming

- Treat coding as one of your hobbies and enjoy the beauty of well-designed software architecture
- Are not afraid of challenging tasks and are eager to learn and gain new knowledge
- Are willing to bring innovative ideas to the team so that others can learn from you
Additional background and/or skillset, that are useful in this role:
- Experience being part of the core team
- Experience in efficient code reviews and clean coding
- Experience in unit/integration/e2e/accessibility testing tools

The team you would be joining is responsible for Communications- tool, which is very business critical as it is part of customer experience when a customer contacts Nordea via phone call, chat, message, or through video meeting. Team members are responsible for full software development from design, development and testing to product performance monitor and bug fixing.
