Would you like to develop in Scala, Spark and other Big Data technology stacks available on-premises and public cloud? We are now looking for a Scala/Spark/Hadoop/Big Data Developer to deliver global reporting solution for our Bank.

About this opportunity
 
Welcome to Corporate Access Account Reporting Team (CAAR), which is a part of Payments Hub. We are building a new customer account reporting engine to replace the existing legacy solutions across our home markets. A prerequisite is that we consolidate all account and payment transaction data to Hadoop, and we have dozens of data formats and integration points both upstream and downstream. The project has the objective to deliver new reports to all 10M customers in the Nordics, consisting of billions of transactions a month.
 
What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be responsible for a successful design and implementation of a high-performing, flexible, robust, scalable and easily maintainable global reporting solution for the Bank
  • Actively cooperating with Product Owner, Solution Architects, Analysts, Testers and Developers
  • Working in an SAFe Agile team

 
The role is based in Poland (Warsaw or Tricity) or Finland (Helsinki).

Your experience and background:  

  • 3+ years of experience with functional programming in Scala
  • Experience with writing Spark-based applications in Scala
  • Experience with Hadoop Technology stack including Hive and Oozie
  • Experience in developing applications with Kafka
  • Experience in containerized technologies including Docker and Kubernetes

 
Nice to have skills, but not mandatory:

  • Deep understanding of the principles of distributed systems
  • Experience with building ETL/ETL pipelines
  • Experience with performance tuning of Hadoop/Spark solutions
  • Familiar with OOD and design patterns
  • Experience with large-scale system integration projects
  • Experience in working with RDBMS and knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase or similar
  • Experience with container-based technologies: Docker, Kubernetes
  • Integration towards RESTful and SOAP/OSB-services
  • Experience in developing web applications with Bootstrap and ReactJS
  • Knowledge and experience with web servers such as Tomcat, Jetty or WebLogic
  • Experience in data engineering on AWS
  • Experience within Agile ways of working
