Senior Security Expert with solid understanding of IT, for Nordea’s Chief Security Office

About this opportunity

Welcome to the Group Security Policy team. As a member of Group Security Policy you will be part of Nordea Group Risk and Compliance in second line of defense. We are overall responsible for setting direction, monitoring and reporting on both information and physical security in Nordea.

We add value to Nordea and to our customers by managing the information security risks and enabling managers and employees to act correctly in protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information. We do that in strong collaboration with business areas and Group functions.

Our mission is to:


  • Build upon the development of the risk landscape, regulatory changes, the business strategy, the risk appetite, internal, external and regulatory findings, results from benchmarking assessments;
  • Improve transparency on information/physical risks and maturity of Nordea’s security defence capabilities. Build up on international standards and best practices where possible;
  • Keep Nordea compliant with regulatory requirements.

You will play a valuable role in setting direction for security, through policies and advisory activities, along with monitoring of compliance against implemented key controls.You will be part of a team of highly skilled colleagues and work very closely with business line and colleagues.  

What you’ll be doing:


  • Set direction for information and physical security through development of security guidelines (policy level)
  • Monitor security compliance against key controls, including proactively advising first line on security and regulatory compliance. 
  • Provide oversight of first line security posture, by leveraging maturity assessment frameworks

Your experience and background:  


  • Have a background within IT and/or information security, with experience of regulatory compliance combined with interest in the area of physical security
  • You have superior English spoken and written skills, and the following qualifications are well regarded 
  • Relevant Bachelor or Master Degree in a technical subject
  • Relevant security qualifications such as CISM, CRISC, CISSP or similar qualification level
