About this opportunity

Welcome to the ESG Framework and Coordination team. We add value by supporting Nordea Group's executive management and business areas with timely and high-quality sustainability information, including on climate change and other environmental factors. We monitor our portfolios via bespoke risk reporting metrics to ensure that we remain within our risk appetite, focused on the most material and relevant risk drivers. As the Senior Risk Expert, you’ll play a valuable role in maintaining and supporting enhancement of data-driven technical solutions, developing methods for assessing materiality of ESG risk factors, and monitoring key risk indicators in accordance with our risk appetite.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintain and support technical solutions for sustainability monitoring, reporting and analysis with stakeholder engagement, data harvesting and project management capabilities
  • Operate and provide oversight to key risk metrics, their management and implementation in the context of assessing risk materiality and setting risk appetite limits and monitoring framework
  • Support delivery and maintenance of our existing tools, through coding knowledge such as SAS, SQL and Power BI platforms

 

You’ll join a dynamic Nordic team that drives development of Nordea Group's credit portfolio analysis and business intelligence tools to support our executive management and wider organization. The role is based in Finland or Poland.

Your experience and background:

  • You should have 5 or more years in a senior role, from finance, economics or environmental management with strong analytical and technical skills to work with large and complex data sets
  • Solid knowledge of one or more scripting languages and platforms that are commonly used for data extraction and transformation (SQL, SAS, Python, Tabular Model Development, SSAS (MS SQL Server Analysis Services), SQL integration services, MS Visual Studio, etc.)
  • Experience in consulting, financial services, data engineering or data-driven IT projects is considered as an advantage
  • Degree in technology, business, economics, finance, data sciences, physics, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of or high interest in the management of sustainability and ESG-related risks in the finance industry and the associated regulatory framework
  • Fluent in English (professional level)
