About this opportunity

We have recently hired a Head of Civil Preparedness whom you will work closely with developing the function over time. This role we are hiring for now, will begin to be  a stream lead in a project relating to complying with Finnish legislation on civil preparedness. Further on, you will contribute to Nordea´s overall civil preparedness work, building resilience over the Group.

 

As a team member in this newly built-up established civil preparedness function will work across Nordea in a matrix setup with other specialists i.e. in the Business areas and Technology organisation. Your job is to either lead, contribute, coordinate or guide projects and initiatives ensuring full alignment with governmental bodies and other external stakeholders across the Nordics. You will also contribute to strengthen the understanding of civil preparedness internally within Nordea through different initiatives to enhance internal anchorage. 
 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build an understanding of processes and dependencies and connect them to how these contribute to societal preparedness as well as how to enhance their resiliency further in alignment with the expectations from authorities and financial regulators. Initially, with particular focus on the payment system. 
  • Establish effective partnerships and collaborations across the organisation for enhancing civil preparedness measures, and to which build competence and understanding.
  • Develop expertise in terms of knowledge and understanding of particularly, the processes that are most critical towards social preparedness, including but not limited to payments processes throughout the Nordics and their dependencies
  • Become a trusted advisor for Civil Preparedness topics by providing guidance related to processes, procedures and interdependencies, while staying informed about emerging risks, industry trends, and best practices within Resilience and Civil Defence


The role is based in Helsinki; Gothenburg/Göteborg; Malmö; Stockholm.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you are/have:

  • Advanced project management skills to prioritize, plan and execute on tasks and translate ideas and capabilities into initiatives
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and frameworks related to Civil Preparedness and Business Continuity. 
  • Good knowledge and/or previous experience with Business Continuity and/or IT Continuity
  • Good communicator who can simplify abstract themes by converting them into easy and clear messaging for varied audiences


Your experience and background: 

  • A good understanding of banking in general, and especially payment systems and processes will be a great advantage in this role

  • A background within the banking and finance sector with experience from an operational resilience related role is advantageous

  • Experience working or contributing to multi-disciplinary remote project teams with operations in multiple countries/cultures
