At Nordea, we use internal models for calculating regulatory capital and these models are developed and maintained by Risk Models. This includes the data asset that collect and aggregate data from most of Nordea’s data landscape. Well governed data is core of statistical modelling and Data Quality Management is one of the most important aspects for effective credit risk management. 
 
We are looking to strengthen our team that will focus on continuous improvements within the area of Credit Risk Data Management. We are looking for a person that will be responsible for establishing and maintaining governance on our key data assets, the credit risk data foundation for our Credit Risk Models. This is an opportunity for you to be a key player in building the data foundation for critical data areas in Nordea.  


About this opportunity
 

We are looking for Senior/Lead Data Governance Expert to join the Credit Risk Data Management team in Risk Models Data & Strategy, where we manage and govern Nordea’s Credit Risk Models Data Assets. As Data Asset Owners, we have the operational responsibility for implementing and maintaining data governance on the critical data elements within the Data Assets owned by Risk Models.

 

Our team work in close collaboration with application owners in development programmes and daily operations to ensure fit-for-purpose data, as well as with Data Governance Experts, Data Asset Owners and Data Stewards across the bank to ensure strong data governance and continuous improvement of data quality. The role also encompasses monitoring the effectiveness of data governance implementations, which includes reviewing Credit Risk Data Quality requirements and controls. 
 
Your responsibilities will encompass various activities in the scope of Credit Risk Data Management, fulfilling Data Governance principles and focus on ensuring continuous improvement and remediation initiatives within: 

  • Data Governance framework and processes with focus on effective Data Quality Controls, also ensuring documentation of Data Lineage toward all data providers and consumers 
  • Data Management standards and processes, Data Quality monitoring and reporting 
  • Continuous improvement of Credit Risk Data Quality
  • Remediation of IRB Data Governance related issues to ensure regulatory compliance

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Accountable for bringing and maintaining data asset(s) under governance, implementing and maintaining governance on the critical data elements within the Risk Models Data Assets
  • Support the daily, operative work within data management for the Credit Risk Models Data Assets
  • Accountable for ensuring adherence to Nordea Data Governance principles and regulatory requirements
  • Act as sparring partner to management and other stakeholders for Data Governance related topics and in change and development initiatives
  • Accountable for definition, documentation and implementation of data asset-specific data standards
  • Ensure that Data Quality Management (DQM) SLAs are in place with data providers and consumers, continuously aiming to improve our Data Quality 
  • Ensure DQ standards in accordance with Nordea data standards and requirements
  • Ensure that DQ measurements are performed and visualized and made available for relevant stakeholders

Your experience and background:

  • Master’s degree in a Finance/Economic/Mathematic or other relevant field
  • Experience with Data Management/Governance, including Data Quality Management and Data Lineage 
  • Experience working with data analysis in a database structure, SQL, SAS, Python or similar
  • Strong interest towards technology and data elements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficient in English both oral and written
  • Understanding of credit risk is an advantage
  • Project Management / Change Driver experience is an advantage
