Would you like to play a key role in shaping how Nordea delivers banking services into corporate and partner platforms? We are looking for an Enterprise Architect to define and drive business and technology solutions within the Embedded Banking Service Domain.

The Embedded Banking Service Domain focuses on exposing payments, cash management and account reporting capabilities through APIs, file-based integrations and partner interfaces, enabling our customers to embed banking services directly into their own systems and platforms. This is a significant change journey – and you will be at the centre of it.
Working closely with international teams, you will influence strategic direction, strengthen architecture practices and contribute to long-term value creation for the bank.

Welcome to the Corporate and Transactions Architecture Team. We add value by working closely with senior management and all other stakeholders on the business side as well as the technology side on translating business trends and new regulation into actionable initiatives and fit-for-purpose solutions.
As the Enterprise Architect, you’ll play a valuable role by understanding changing business strategies and requirements, by bringing your technology competence to the table and by merging these two into design of well architected, user friendly and cost effective solutions.
In the Embedded Banking Service Domain, this includes shaping how Nordea’s services are integrated via APIs and file-based channels, defining architectures for payment initiation, account reporting and real-time services, and ensuring scalable orchestration and integration across internal platforms and external partner ecosystems.
What you’ll be doing:
- Work with other architects, business and technology stakeholders on developing Architecture Visions and Target & Transition Architectures for various parts of the business and the technology landscape with a main focus on the payments related area
- Support the various execution structures and development teams building the solutions with architecture and governance/approval processes
- Join and/or run enterprise architecture assignments going across several Service Areas
- Represent Architecture in various steering committees and other governance foras
- Support proof-of-concept and procurement processes of new software and technology
- Manage the architecture elements of new technology adoption processes
- Support and coach less senior architects in the relevant areas
- You will work with all four architectural disciplines and at all abstraction levels
- You will work with all business lines related Corporate customers, but the main focus will be Embedded Banking and closely related areas like Payment Execution, Channels and Payments Data
This role is open in Helsinki or Gdańsk. We work in a hybrid model (60 % onsite, 40 % remote), combining office collaboration with flexible remote work.

- Prioritise your own assignments according to agreed overall priorities and in dialogue with the Service Domain leadership team and your manager
- Probably have a Bachelor's or a Master's in computer science, engineering or similar or another technology related background combined with many years of experience working in and with architecture functions
- Have a strong understanding of Payments as a business area
- Experience working with Payment Platforms
- Hands-on experience with Embedded Banking services, including payment initiation, account reporting and integration channels (APIs and file-based solutions)
- Experience working with API-based banking solutions, open banking interfaces or partner integrations, enabling banking services to be consumed by external systems and platforms
- Understand how payments, cash management and reporting services are exposed and orchestrated across channels, APIs and backend platforms
- Experience working with integration architectures, including API gateways, event-driven services or file-based integration models in a banking context
- The ability to take high level business strategies and objectives and transform them to tangible and executable architectures
