About this opportunity
Welcome to the Embedded Banking Architecture team! To strengthen our team we are looking for an experienced Solution Architect who has a strong background in architecture roles and who can have deep both infrastructure and technical conversations with our developers within the area as well as higher level discussion with less technical audience. You will engage with many different stakeholders, so the person we are looking for, is an outgoing individual who is self-motivated and contributes to a good team spirit.
Embedded Banking´s responsibility is to have end-to-end responsibility for Customer Integration, API products and Payment orchestration and you will be joining the Connectivity and enablers release train. We follow the SAFe agile framework and Development teams are located in several different countries.
Your main responsibilities will be around the Architectural development of the train working with API Market, API Platform, Identify & Access and Onboarding, but also integrations supporting different EndToEnd payment flows in Nordea´s target payment architecture.
What you will be doing:
- Working as a Solution architect in Embedded Banking area (Payments & Open banking)
- Designing comprehensive architectural plans and solutions that address specific business problems or requirements and that are aligned with Nordea´s target architecture
- Ensuring alignment with standards and drive architecturally significant decisions
- Creating architectural governance documents
- Explaining architectural plans to key stakeholders (e.g. Developers, Analysts and Business Experts)
- Ensuring understanding of important factors for both Business and IT and to drive consensus among stakeholders on the trade-offs required
- Covering elements of Data, Information and Security Architecture
- Proactively participating and supporting to develop, guide and govern standards, principles and best practices to better achieve organizational objectives
- Be recognized in the organization as having deep knowledge of Solution Architecture and Technical Architecture
- Collaborating closely with other Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, Business and IT Experts
Who you are
To succeed in this role, we believe that you:

Your experience and background:
- At least 7+ years of Solution architect experience and 15+ years of experience in IT
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in creating architectures plans, designs and governance documents
- Practical knowledge of Architecture patterns and styles and knowledge how to design robust, scalable and maintainable solutions
- Knowledge on Cloud computing (e.g. AWS) and AI tools and development
- Background as a developer (e.g. Java) and knowledge of Software development concepts
- Proven skills to be able to work and lead in a global multicultural organization
- Experience with Payments business domain is considered as a benefit
- Previous experience working with DevOps team in Agile/Scrum methodology is a benefit
- Fluent in English both written and spoken is a must
The role is based in Helsinki, Stockholm or in Tri-City.
