We are now looking for a Senior IT Architect/Solution Architect for our Architecture & Engineering team in Nordea Finance.

About our team

 

Nordea Finance (Nordea Rahoitus) is a subsidiary of Nordea Bank with its own internal IT organization. We have a modern office located in Vallila where we are working closely with our business. We are responsible of developing modern services and platforms for our external and internal customers. What you’ll be doing

 

As a Solution Architect, you be working together with our business owners, architects and developers. You will act as a bridge between business and technology, translating the business needs into solution architecture. You will also give guidance to the development teams to implement the solutions to follow the design. You will be operating in a complex finance sector thus following the group architecture guidelines ensures the alignment with Nordea Bank technology strategy. 

 

  • Draw on existing architectures and technology standards to determine feasible options 
  • Design a logical and conceptual solution architecture 
  • Analyse and translate business information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve business objectives 
  • Collaborate with enterprise and group architects, and application and infrastructure teams to ensure architectural alignment across the organization 
  • Work in close collaboration with Product Management to define and refine executable epics. 
  • Support Product Manager & Owner with Demand Management & Discovery process. 
  • Can work independently, conduct analysis and assessments and draft proposals based on these. 
  • Are proactive, able to manage multiple tasks, and execution-oriented. 
  • Well organized with a structured approach and well-developed co-operation skills. 

 

We follow hybrid model of working. Role is full-time and permanent. Ideal starting month would be October-December 2026.

 

Who you are 

 

Your background and skills include:  

  • Either 10+ years’ experience in IT projects as a developer, lead and contributor, and interest to build a career in architecture 
  • Or 3-5 years’ experience as an IT architect with excellent understanding on architectural principals and design methodologies 
  • Analytical in clarifying problems to be solved  
  • Innovative in coming up with solutions and architectures 
  • You are a driver and facilitator with positive energy, persistent with your goals, good in building effective networks, and have shown your ability to communicate with both business and IT. 
  • You express opinions, and key points of an argument clearly to convey your message to different audiences, including the ability to simplify a complex concept while not losing the essentials. 
  • Have strong business and technical background, and great analytical and requirement specification skills (functional and non-functional) 
  • Are familiar with agile way of working and methods (SAFe, Scrum, XP, Kanban) 
  • Facilitate well and can mentor development teams 
  • Knowledge of Java and cloud technologies 
  • Familiarity and/or experience with public cloud infrastructure and technologies (such as AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus 
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills 
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering or similar 

 

It would be ideal if you also:

  • Microservices and event driven architecture 
  • Nordea Finance knowledge 
  • Finance domain knowledge 
  • Understanding of front-end, middleware and backend technologies.
