GBS Projects is a unit within Group Business Support (GBS). We are responsible for portfolio management in GBS and for securing the execution of a diverse portfolio of selected strategic and high-profile programs in GBS. The unit can be involved in all phases of a project's lifetime, using a variety of tools from the project management office toolbox to support and ensure deliveries. The projects will be returned to the units to which they belong when they are ready.

About this opportunity
 

The purpose of GBS Projects is to support other units when they are going through material change. GBS Projects focuses on high-impact, business-critical projects and offers extra project capacity and support in all phases of the project lifecycle. The unit will also offer change management support to ensure effective implementation of projects and communication with key stakeholders within GBS and across Nordea. When the project is reaching "business as usual" status, it will be handed over to the requesting unit to create space for new projects.
 
GBS Projects is responsible for managing GBS technology investments portfolio, which includes the prioritized allocation of portfolio targets to initiatives, managing rebalancing, and delivering reporting.
 
We are looking for an experienced colleague with Program Manager/Project Manager experience from large, complex programs and/or a background in a project management function working with high-profile projects.
 
 

What you will be doing:

  • Work with a varied portfolio of strategic and high-profile programs and projects in a time-sensitive and fast paced environment.
  • Support portfolio management work which includes running monthly steercos, supporting overall allocation of funding, following up on costs, deliverables, benefits, and reporting status.
  • Enable transparency and cooperation between portfolios.
  • Work together with the project teams to ensure the projects are well-run and  set up for successful implementation.
  • Support, give guidance and challenge where best practices are not evident.
  • Help identify project / program bottlenecks and proactively contribute to and monitor resolution.
  • Lead the journey of fostering a data-driven culture throughout Nordea.

 

The role can be based in Helsinki.

  • Have a solid toolbox within programme/project management and strong business understanding combined with a focus on execution of the right priorities and delivering desired effects. 
  • Have demonstrated the ability to do deep-dives combined with making overall conclusions and recommendation for a project - using your creative thinking, curiosity through asking and showing a true passion for development and improvement.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, being able to navigate and collaborate with all stakeholders at different levels, and influence outcomes.
  • Have strong communications skills that you use to set direction and clear expectations and secure follow-up and concise reporting.

 
Your experience and background:

  • Several years of experience in a similar role, preferably form the financial/banking industry.
  • Vast experience in portfolio management, strategic roadmap development, and programme/project management.
  • A proven track record of delivering results and the ability engage and mobilize a range of stakeholders.
