Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is the center of investment management in the Nordea Group and in the Asset & Wealth Management division. NAM is the largest asset manager in the Nordics with the vision of being a leading European Asset Manager. We want to do this by delivering returns with responsibility. We meet customer demands and guide our customers in the right direction in asset selection while ensuring prudent ESG practices. About our team
Meet the Calculations and Risk Engineering team. Our role is to build data and reporting solutions using market’s best data engineering technologies.
Our team includes thirteen SW developers, proficient in skills and competences to support the associated business area domain with robust SW solutions.
As our new data engineer, you will get opportunity to collaborate with fellow engineers on market’s newest technological competences, engineering tools and processes. On day to day basis you will engage with End-Of-Day value stream, where competences from different areas work together to deliver data driven solutions. We are organized based on the concept of “you own it, you build it, you run it” and there is strong focus on an effective flow of value towards our consumers.
Our organization is currently going through a technological and data transformation and our engineers play a very important role in ensuring we grasp every possibility of transitioning towards the target in the everyday tasks to be solved.
What you’ll be doing
Some of your tasks at high level will be:
- Design, develop and maintain data solutions/pipelines.
- Understanding the domains data and supporting the modelling to be able to make data fit in the bigger picture.
- Creating framework or reusable modules to enable business to create value faster.
- Refactoring of current data pipelines and reporting solutions to the new platform/technologies.
- Leveraging AI.
- Participate and contribute to value streams ceremonies like product increment planning, status updates etc.
- Be a proactive player in finding the right initiatives of technological transformation in the business domain.

We seek a data engineer, with a sound grasp of technologies and ability to bridge the gap between technical debt and modern solutions.
To succeed in this role, we believe that you:
- Demonstrate high level of data engineering skills and believe in applying best engineering practices like automatic testing and continuous integration
- Practice dev/data-ops as a natural choice for delivering outcomes
- Are familiar with Data engineering principles, data pipelines and are acquainted to the concept of Data Mesh
- Are curious to onboard on new technologies
- Are able to find joy in a hybrid world of legacy and new solutions
- Do not hesitate to take on new challenges
Your experience and background:
- Fundamental knowledge of technologies like Airflow, dbt and dlt.
- Hands on in coding language Python.
- Have good understanding of modern integration patterns like REST APIs and Apache Kafka
- Knowledge of AI/ML Concepts
- Familiarity with developer tools like excel and SQL
- Familiarity with Data warehouse and Data Lakehouse technologies; hands on experience with Snowflake is a bonus
- Have a good understanding of cloud architecture
- Have knowledge of CI-CD pipelines
- Are fluent in English
