Would you like to get in on the ground floor of building a new data platform? We are now looking for a Senior Data Engineer to accelerate our shift towards a Snowflake-based data platform.

 

Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is the centre of investment management in the Nordea Group and in the Asset & Wealth Management division. NAM is the largest asset manager in the Nordics with the vision of being a leading European Asset Manager. We want to do this by delivering returns with responsibility. About our team

 

Welcome to the Reference Data Value Stream. We add value by automating and implementing data management processes, data products and data foundations for investment systems, reporting and analytics. As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll play a valuable role in building vital data pipelines and tooling to futureproof our Market & Reference Data business domain.

 

What you'll be doing

 

Main responsibilities in this role: 

  • Driving requirement gathering and finding the right problems to solve
  • Working across teams to share knowledge, participate in communities and getting an outside-in perspective on architectural decisions
  • Developing the business domain part of our NAM Data Platform, adding new data sources and transformations in response to new business requirements
  • Continually improving the platform, adopting new technologies and patterns as they become available
  • Building internal tooling to support NAM’s migration into the NAM data platform
  • Continue migrating the existing platform into our Lakehouse
  • Mentoring across the cross-functional team and in the competence team
  • Influence the business domain estate and engage in technology ADRs, tech standards and implementation guidelines

 

You’ll join a motivated, international, agile, cross-functional and end-to-end team . The role is based in Copenhagen.

 

Who you are

 

To do well in this role, we believe that you:

  • Value good software practices such as “Everything-as-code”, automated testing, good CI/CD practices - all in service of continuous delivery with high speed and quality
  • Believe in the “you build it, you run it” approach to ownership
  • Adept at learning swiftly, interested in exploring better ways of working

 

Your background and skills include: 

  • Extensive experience working with Python in a data engineering capacity
  • Extensive experience with SQL

 

In addition it is preferable if you have experience in any of the following:

  • Building and deploying containerised applications on Kubernetes
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Experience with DBT
  • Building DAGs with Apache Airflow
  • AWS or other public cloud experience
  • Infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform
  • Experience working in end-to-end delivery teams
  • Experience with a Data Mesh strategy
