We are looking for a Senior Rates Trader to join our Cross Asset Trading team. The team trades a broad range of cash and derivatives products, including Interest Rate Swaps, Inflation Swaps, xCCY Swaps, Swaptions, Options and Bonds (Government, SSA and Covered).


We are seeking someone with extensive experience within rates and derivatives, who will thrive in optimising derivatives trading from an investment perspective as an Asset Manager.


You will share responsibility for trading on the desk, as well as improving data-driven decision-making and engaging with portfolio managers to align trading outcomes.


The role is a full-time position based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Cross Asset Trading focuses on Rates and Derivatives, utilising both systematic trading frameworks and high-touch trading to optimise based on the underlying market microstructure. The team is dedicated to improving trading outcomes by using data-driven decision-making.

Our team is part of the Global Trading organisation within Nordea Asset Management. Global Trading is responsible for order generation and trade execution on behalf of portfolio managers and clients across all asset classes.

What you’ll be doing

 

Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Trade orders and minimise trading costs across multiple asset classes by managing liquidity efficiently
  • Address trading capacity limitations across various market conditions and liquidity regimes
  • Work closely with portfolio managers to align investment objectives with trading outcomes
  • Perform quantitative analysis for execution reviews and ensure best execution for all traded instruments
  • Identify new trading opportunities and improve execution efficiency across products
  • Contribute to the design, development and enhancement of trading models and frameworks

Your background and skills include: 

  • 5–10+ years of experience in front-office trading, market-making, margin management, balance sheet optimisation of listed or OTC derivatives, or a similar role
  • Expert knowledge within rates derivatives from both a theoretical and practical perspective
  • Ability to clearly communicate and interact with portfolio managers regarding trading outcomes
  • Academic degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or similar
  • Comfortable using data and analytics to make informed trading decisions
  • Coding experience (such as SQL, Python, etc.)

 

It would be ideal if you also: 

  • Have experience with OMS and EMS systems (ideally SimCorp, FlexTrade and Bloomberg)
  • Have experience in best execution, equal treatment of clients, and regulatory frameworks around trading (MiFID, UMR and EMIR)
