About this opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Risk Expert to be a part of Group Financial Risk Management and Control (GFRMC) Analytics and Management Oversight team. 

 

GFRMC Analytics and Management Oversight sits within Nordea’s second line of defense, and is responsible for risk analytics, change management and driver role for significant projects within the Market and Counterparty Credit Risk space. We work closely with different risk areas across the bank, information technology/infrastructure and respective risk model teams. We work to ensure regulatory compliance, we are subject matter experts and business analysts, ensuring compliant risk metrics are established and feeding front end solutions for analysis, reporting and control.

 

As a Senior Risk Expert, you will play an essential role in ensuring the risk perspective is appropriately reflected in Nordea’s risk management practice. You can further develop your professional risk management skills as well as personal experiences together with expert analysts in above mentioned areas, as well as in other areas such as balance sheet risk controls, credit risk, risk models and risk infrastructure. You have a positive attitude who takes ownership of delegated tasks and who is not afraid to make decisions and drive larger initiatives.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving business analysis of ongoing and new projects designed to ensure compliance to current and future financial regulations impacting Nordea (e.g. FRTB, Basel IV, EGIM compliance)
  • Be a part of building new state of the art front end solutions for analysis, control (including limits and risk appetite), and reporting 
  • Support in developing tools for risk control and reporting, risk analysis and new risk metrics for regulatory compliance and impact testing 
  • Build and maintain risk subject matter expertise as well as knowledge on current rule-making and industry developments regarding relevant regulatory reform
  • Establishing and build first class processes and controls for relevant risk areas

  • Are familiar with a range of financial instruments, and have an understanding of the basics of valuation of financial derivatives

  • Are mature with professional aproach to your duties
  • Are experience in above mentioned risk areas and upcoming regulation such as FRTB is an advantage
  • Are outgoing, communicate effectively, and can build good relationships with colleagues with diverse competences, nationalities and job responsibilities

Your experience and background: 

  • A solid economics, finance or equivalent academic degree 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience (full time or part time) in financial markets, banking, or similar 
  • Programming knowledge (e.g. SQL, Python) is beneficial
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and a proactive approach
  • Experience in driving change and coordinating, for instance as a project leader or a process owner
  • Strong written and verbal skills in English
