As part of the continued evolution of Nordea’s Payments & Cash Management Product Management, we are now looking for a Chief Product Manager in our Nordic Retail & Mobile Payments domain. 

 

Retail and mobile payments are undergoing rapid transformation, with the shift towards account-to-account (A2A) payments, real-time transactions, wallets, and reshaping how customers pay, get paid and interact with financial services. This role will play a key part in positioning Nordea in this changing landscape.  

 

The Chief Product Manager is a senior individual contributor role with responsibility for a defined product area or strategic product theme within Retail & Mobile Payments. The role does not include formal people leadership, but instead focuses on setting direction, driving prioritisation, and ensuring that product decisions create customer and business value while meeting regulatory and risk requirements. 

 

About our team

 

You will join the Nordic Retail & Mobile Payments domain, part of Payments & Cash Management Product Management within Transaction Banking. 

 

Our team is responsible for shaping and evolving Nordea’s mobile payments, e-commerce payments, e-invoicing and collections solutions across the Nordics, ensuring they are scalable, secure and aligned with customer needs in a fast-changing environment.  

 

We work in close collaboration across Product Management, Technology, and key stakeholders in Risk, Compliance, Sales and external partners. Driving transformation in one of Nordea’s most strategic areas.

Main responsibilities in this role:   

  • Define and drive product strategy, direction, and roadmap within Nordic Retail & Mobile Payments  
  • Translate market trends, customer needs, and regulatory requirements into clear product priorities and decisions  
  • Lead prioritisation and investment discussions, ensuring focus on highest-value initiatives  
  • Own product value creation, including performance, business impact, risks, and dependencies  
  • Act as a senior product leader and trusted partner across Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and commercial teams  
  • Drive alignment in complex stakeholder landscapes, including external partners and payment ecosystems  
  • Strengthen product management practices and ways of working, acting as a role model for the domain 

  

Who you are 

 

You are a senior product professional with a strong ability to navigate complexity, influence stakeholders, and translate strategy into actionable product decisions. 

 

Your background and skills include: 

  • Extensive experience in product management within payments, banking, or other regulated environments  
  • Strong understanding of retail and/or mobile payment ecosystems, including market trends such as A2A, instant payments, and digital wallets  
  • Proven track record of shaping product direction and driving prioritisation across complex, cross-functional organisations  
  • Solid understanding of customer value, commercial drivers, and regulatory requirements  
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complexity into clear decisions and structured product plans  
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
