About our team

Welcome to the International Institutions team. International Institutions is the customer responsible unit for Nordea’s international financial institutions such Insurers, Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Pension Funds, CCP’s, Global Banks and the correspondent banking network.

As a Customer Responsible Unit we are responsible for the customer cross selling, on-boarding, credit and compliance dialogue and the overall client coordination. Our unit assumes full responsibility for client profitability and all associated risk.

As the Client Executive, you’ll play a valuable role in assuming the overall customer responsibility, co-ordination and cross selling for international institutional clients. We offer our clients a wide array of products and services including but not limited to financing facilities, letters of credits, cash management, trading, investment products along with various risk management and hedging solutions.

Main responsibilities in this role:

• Managing a portfolio of banks and asset managers, mainly located in Europe and US.
• Originate new business. Cross-sell the banks full product template. The products and services in focus are wide but include capital markets, treasury solutions, DCM, investment banking, cash management and trade finance.
• Developing the customer portfolio in order to maximize the potential and long term profitability as well as usage of capital and credit.
• Suggesting solutions to customers´ specific needs and specific themes to be regarded a relevant speaking partner in banking matters.
• Leading, coordinating and overseeing all internal operations and projects relating to customers in the portfolio.
• Preparing and assessing credit proposals and complete credit and KYC reviews according to prevailing policies and approved deadlines.
• Make sure that the relationships in the portfolio follow the relevant laws, guidelines, policies, rules, standards & regulations.
• Follow and understand the financial risks on banks in the portfolio as well as the development of the country they operate in. 

You’ll join a team of driven, business and customer oriented client executives. The role is based in on-site in Copenhagen.

 
Who you are

Your background and skills include:

• A genuine interest and knowledge in financial markets and the development, macro, political etc.
• Strong business development skills
• Strong knowledge of capital markets and investment banking products
• Proactive approach with customers and internal initiatives
• Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with all Nordea stakeholders and collaborators.  
• Interest in compliance related topics including understanding of sanctions, internal policies, guidelines and potential compliance risks with the relationships we have.
• Keen sense of ownership for all issues relating to customer portfolio including credit, KYC, compliance and legal.

Furthermore, we exepct you to: 

• Have an masters degree within a relevant field 
• Have an minimum of 10-12 years of experience from working with financial institutions (Banks and Asset Managers)
• Have experience of capital markets products is key
• Have experience of investment banking would be an advantage
• Have experience from credit assessment on banks and asset managers is an advantage
• Be fluent in spoken and written Danish, as well as English
