FX Developer Low Latency and Algo for e-Trading

About this opportunity

Welcome to the  e-Trading Developers team. We add value by building the software platform for our FX and Fixed Income trading business in close collaboration with other e-Trading teams and key business stakeholders. As developer, you’ll play a valuable role in delivering efficient trading capabilities that enable Nordea to continue to have competitive offerings that meet the needs of our customers.

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Hands-on design, code, test, maintain and support event-driven micro-services in Java that implement low-latency pricing and algo risk management.
  • Work with a mix of open-source technologies and our vendor-supplied trading platform BarracudaFX.
  • Collaborate closely with other developers, quants and traders in the full cycle from business objectives to technical solutions
  • Optimise and maintain existing capabilities – and expand with new ones.
  • Take your code all the way to production in close collaboration with our dedicated operations team.

Your experience and background: 
 

  • Relevant degree in computer science, engineering, math or other technical field.
  • Excellent Java developer skills.
  • Experience with distributed systems, concurrent and parallel programming, inter-process communication and network programming.
  • Experience with streaming and event-driven software architecture.
  • Experience with fault-tolerant and self-healing systems.

 

Good to have:

 

  • Mechanical sympathy for hardware, operating systems and computer networks.
  • Experience with garbage collection tuning and zero-allocation code.
  • Experience with Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Splunk.
  • Experience with Gradle, Maven, Oracle SQL, Linux.
  • Experience with Disruptor, Aeron, FIX.
  • Experience with test automation, end-to-end testing and unit testing.
  • Experience with agile development, DevOps, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Improvement.
