Would you like to play a key role in maintaining and strengthening Nordea’s brand and reputation in Denmark? We are now looking for a new Head of Communication DK who with their experience and passion will continue building the strong connections between Nordea’s customers, stakeholders and the public.  

 

About our team 

 

Group Brand, Communication and Marketing (GBCM) unit focuses on close collaboration and synergy between the very related areas of communication, marketing and branding and works towards common priorities on the positioning and identity applying our knowledge and experience from each of our disciplines. 


As the Head of Communications DK, you will be leading a team of 7 communication specialist covering media, SoMe, employee engagement and content production for our Nordea channels.  You will report directly to the Head of Group Brand, Communication and Marketing in Denmark. You will also have a dotted line to the Head of Group Corporate Communication.

What you'll be doing 

 

As the Head of Communication in Denmark, you will execute the comprehensive communication strategy for the country, both internally and externally.

 

Main responsibilities in this role: 

  • Leading a key team in Nordea that is central to delivering on our ambitions to strengthen our brand, reputation and position in Denmark.

  • Drive and execute the Danish reputation strategy with an 360 approach, tying SoMe, media, internal communications, content production close together with our brand marketing activities

  • Planning and executing proactive external communication and thought leadership with Nordea’s spokespersons covering a broad range of topics. This includes supporting the press team in handling daily media interactions and build relationships with journalists and editorial teams

  • Drive communication related to Nordea’s quarterly results in strong collaboration with our Nordic colleagues

  • Act as a trusted adviser to Danish business area heads, experts, and spokespersons

  • Proactively manage reputational risks and lead high intensity situations through strong stakeholder management and execution

  • Coordinate communication plans and strategies in close relationship with the rest of Marketing & Communications team in Denmark, our public affairs team  and of course the Danish business

 

Who you are

 

This is the right role for you if you are an experienced senior leader with high integrity, passionate about creating a positive, collaborative working environment. You should be driven, proactive, structured, and bring a positive can-do attitude, finding possible solutions to any challenge.

 

Your background and skills include:

  • Extensive experience in corporate communications and media relations, with a journalistic background considered a merit

  • Broad experience in reputational risk management

  • Senior leadership skills and demonstrated resilience in high-pressure situations

  • Strong industry and business understanding, as well as exceptional stakeholder management skills

  • Proven ability to develop and implement communication strategies in a Nordic corporate environment

  • Excellent communication skills in both Danish and English

 

It would be ideal if you also:

  • Have experience working in the financial services sector

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the Nordic media landscapes

  • Have a track record of leading across various communication disciplines

  • Demonstrated successful execution of thought leadership initiatives
